We’re back in action following a technical break and are gradually catching up on our coverage of our partner teams’ matches. This time, we’re focusing on DR Esports, who are taking on the challenges of the Open division in Arrma’s 13th season. You’re no doubt curious to know how they started the season and what form they were in when they joined the server? Without further ado, let’s analyse their first results.
A successful start or the beginning of a bumpy ride? How did DR Esports fare against their first opponents?
DR Esports 13:6 kdrb | Nuke
The first match of the season always carries a hint of uncertainty; you never know what to expect from your opponent or how communication will hold up under the pressure of a real match. However, DR Esports came through this test unscathed, defeating kdrb 13–6 on Nuke, a map that has long been renowned for its demanding rotations and the importance of teamwork. The result suggests that Dark Riders were in control of the match’s tempo and were able to effectively close out rounds on their own terms.
Although their opponents managed to snatch a few points, the final result makes it clear that DR Esports did not allow themselves to be dominated at any stage of the match. This is a solid foundation for the start of the season, in which the players have shown that they can cope under pressure and make full use of their strengths. Such a start will certainly boost their confidence ahead of upcoming matches.
DR Esports 13:1 CHLEWIAKI | Mirage
The second match was a true demonstration of strength. The 13:1 victory over CHLEWIAKI on Mirage can safely be described as a one-sided affair. Such a lopsided scoreline suggests that DR Esports not only dominated in terms of shooting, but also in tactics, pace of play and reading their opponents. Mirage, as one of the more classic maps, often favours well-coordinated and adaptable teams, and everything pointed to that being exactly what we witnessed.
The fact that they conceded just one round to their opponents also shows that the Dark Riders players remained fully focused and did not allow themselves a single moment of weakness. Such a performance may send a clear signal to the rest of the teams in the Open division that DR Esports intend to compete for the top honours, and their form in these opening matches could herald a very successful season.
DR Esports’ start to Season 13 can therefore be seen as a truly impressive start. Two convincing victories, including one that was downright dominant, are certainly boosting not only their points tally in the table but also the team’s morale and confidence in their own style of play. Although the competition is only just beginning, it’s already clear that Dark Riders have the potential to cause a stir in the Open division, and if they maintain their excellent form, we’re in for a truly exciting season. In their next matches, DR Esports will face NA RONDZIE PROSTO and ZAMĘTZAMIESZKI, so we’re hoping this strong start will turn into a winning streak. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for more successful performances!
