Changes in the world of esports can stir up emotions, as they affect people who fight for their dreams every day, as well as organisations keen to develop their projects. This is precisely the current situation at VoFoxen Rising. On 5 December, the team announced some important news – player dako has been moved to the bench and has temporarily ceased to represent the Foxes’ academy. Whilst moments like this are never easy, they can nevertheless pave the way for new opportunities.
A rich history of collaboration
dako joined VoFoxen Rising on 15 August, meaning their esports adventure together lasted just under four months. Despite the short timeframe, the team played many matches together, competing in tournaments and leagues whilst developing their own style and making a strong mark on the scene. Dako brought energy and skill to the team, which is exactly what the organisation had expected of him from the outset.
The player quickly integrated into the team, whilst VoFoxen Rising consistently sought the strongest solutions. However, esports is also about constant evaluation and dialogue, which is why both parties reached a decision that – as can be seen from the official announcement – was the result of dialogue and mutual respect. The organisation openly thanked dako for his work to date, which highlights the maturity of the whole situation.
Difficult decisions that sometimes lead to growth
Although partings can be painful, they sometimes turn out to be the best solution for both the player and the organisation. A change allows one to take a broader view, as it opens up new career opportunities and provides an impetus for further work. In its official statement, VoFoxen emphasised that it is not saying “goodbye”, but rather “see you later”. Fans can hope that fate will bring the team and dako together again.

A wave of changes – coincidence or a natural stage of development?
It is worth noting that November brought yet another departure. Coach TheLisu, who had previously run the academy, left the organisation. This decision also caused quite a stir, so the December change only fuelled fans’ questions about the team’s stability.
Although at first glance this looks like a series of dramatic shake-ups, we shouldn’t immediately assume the worst. Esports is developing rapidly, and teams are striving to find the best path forward. A gentle reshuffle often proves to be a natural stage in a project’s maturation. We sincerely hope that this is indeed the case with VoFoxen Rising, as we wish the organisation stability and success.

At the moment, there is no confirmed information regarding trials for new players or a potential recruitment form. The organisation is likely working on a plan of action, as such processes require time and precision. It is possible that an announcement will be made in the coming days. It is worth remembering, however, that esports academies often look not only for highly skilled players, but also for people who fit in with the team’s philosophy.
