Following their first victory, as described in the previous article, Constrict Gaming were hoping for a run of better results and to stabilise their form in Season 55 of ESEA Main. Unfortunately, the following weeks proved to be more challenging. Out of the four matches played, the team won just one, leaving them with a current record of 2–5. Although the start of the season has not gone to the team’s liking, the Constrict Gaming players are keeping their heads up and are still fighting to improve their results in the second half of the season. The season isn’t over yet, and every match could be a chance to turn things around.
Constrict Gaming are fighting, but they’re missing that final touch
Constrict Gaming got off to a good start in their run of four consecutive matches. In their clash against 🇱🇹 STORM FORGED on Inferno, the team showed the character and determination that had been lacking in previous weeks. Despite a disappointing first half ending 5–7, the team took the initiative after the break, capitalising effectively on their opponents’ mistakes in crucial rounds. Consistent play and sound decision-making in the closing stages allowed Constrict to turn the match around and secure a 13–9 victory. This match gave hope that the team had finally found their rhythm and were starting to hit their stride.
Unfortunately, in the next match, once again on Inferno, this time against 🇭🇺 mXm-S, the story had a similar start but a different ending. The first half again ended 5–7, but this time the opponents proved far more effective after the sides switched. Despite a few successful rounds and attempts to get back into the match, Constrict Gaming were unable to take control of the map. Above all, they lacked consistency at crucial moments, which meant their comeback faltered halfway through, and the match ended in an 8–13 defeat.
More matches without a breakthrough
The third match, played on Overpass against :ua: Valtrion, followed a very similar pattern. Constrict got off to a good start, but their opponents quickly imposed their own pace, dominating the first half and going into the break trailing 4–8. In the second half, the team tried to make up for their deficit; several rounds ended in a truly even contest, but they lacked the finishing touch at crucial moments. Despite their ambition and a good performance in several key situations, Constrict failed to break down their opponents, losing 8–13.
The most recent match to date, played against 🇨🇿 ZennoX on Dust 2, was by far the most thrilling. After the first half ended 4–8, the team once again found themselves in a difficult position. But this time, after the sides switched maps, they began to consistently make up the deficit. Unfortunately, despite a good run, Constrict Gaming fell just short of levelling the score. The match ended 10–13, leaving a sense of disappointment, but also a sign that the team is getting closer to a breakthrough.
The second half of the season promises to be exciting
Although the series yielded just one victory, Constrict Gaming are showing that they can fight for every round and are coping better and better in difficult moments. Now Constrict faces further challenges… Today at 8.00 pm, the team will take on 🇫🇮 PAJU. And just a few days later, on Tuesday 4 November, they’ll face 🇩🇪 Huskies eSport. Both matches promise to be thrilling and could prove crucial for the team’s future in this ESEA season. If Constrict can maintain their determination and improve their effectiveness in key rounds, the second half of the season could look very different indeed. However, the path to a positive record remains open.
