ViBe Gaming is coming to Gdańsk

- -

The qualifiers for the main LAN stage of the Galaxy Cup Powered by Kinguin tournament took place recently. Only 8 teams out of the 28 that took part advanced from the qualifiers. Several of our partners took part, but with such a strong field, only one managed to qualify. This feat was achieved by ViBe Gaming, who swept aside their rivals and secured their place on the first day without dropping into the losers’ bracket.

A far from easy start

ViBe played their first match at 1 pm against RRisk, a team that is only just beginning to climb the ranks of the underground scene and lacks much experience. This gave our partner a significant advantage from the outset, as they have plenty of experienced players. The first two matches were played in a BO1 format, with Ancient selected as the map for this clash. It’s a fairly enjoyable map that could have ended in a one-sided victory.

The first half, however, gave no indication of this, as ViBe Gaming drew it 6–6, meaning the second half would be the decider. It was only after the sides switched that the players from our partner team really came to life and dominated that half with a 7–1 scoreline, thereby winning the whole match 13–7. It was a sign that they hadn’t come here to be knocked out quickly, but to fight for the highest honours.

We need to add more excitement

The next team to take to the stage was Eppa, a side previously unknown to anyone. Their players, whether in the underground scene or mainstream, weren’t widely recognised, so it seemed that for the in-form ViBe players, this would be an easy ride and they could already start thinking about the decider. Nothing could have been further from the truth, however; Eppa showed that they were no pushovers and were capable of causing major problems. The map for this clash was the desert-themed Mirage.

The first half didn’t go too well for the lads from our partner team. They suffered a 4–8 defeat in that half and had to come back from behind in the second half of the match. Their comeback was successful, though not immediately; the match had to be decided in extra time. There, however, ViBe Gaming showed complete dominance and won the match 16–12, thereby securing their place in the decisive clash against Haspers. An interesting anecdote is that the little-known team Eppa have made it to the LAN and will be playing in Gdańsk, perhaps even against ViBe once again.

The final piece of the jigsaw

The decisive match of the first day remains. A clash against the revamped Haspers, featuring players such as Muciek, kadziu and Showk. This time, it’s a BO3 format, where there’s no room for luck and only the players’ skills count. The maps selected were: Ancient (Haspers’ pick), Nuke (ViBe’s pick) and, as the decider, Mirage. Quite good picks for our partner, but they still had to be won.

Starting with Ancient, just like in the opening match, it began very evenly. The 6–6 draw didn’t satisfy either team, and it was the second half that had to decide the outcome. There, however, Haspers’ experienced players, with their excellent aim, put up stiffer resistance and won the map of their own choice 13–9, thereby moving just one step closer to playing at the venue where, among others, Team Liquid had played a month earlier.

The second map wasn’t quite so straightforward for them. They started by losing the first half 4–8, leaving ViBe in a more comfortable position heading into the second half of their own map. Unsurprisingly, this half was evenly matched and ended 5–5, but thanks to the substantial lead built up by our partner, they were able to celebrate victory on their own pick. Zilla was a key player on this map, managing to rack up 30 kills and just 12 deaths. It was an impressive performance that certainly gave his teammates a huge boost.

All that remained was the decider of deciders: the Polish map, the vast battlefield – Mirage. On that day, ViBe had already managed to win after extra time. Now, however, they didn’t want to go to extra time; they wanted to win convincingly and secure their trip to Gdańsk. Just as on the previous map, the first half brought them very close to achieving this, as they managed to win it 8–4. This left them just 5 points away from the coveted LAN spot and the chance to compete for 14,000 zlotys. It wasn’t easy to secure the win, as it took a full 24 rounds. Nevertheless, they managed to do so, winning the final map 13–11 and the match 2–1.

Galaxy Cup Powered by Kinguin – Qualifier for the LAN (11 October 2025)

What next?

ViBe Gaming now face a period of preparation for this event, which will take place on 8 and 9 November. We already know their opponent in the quarter-finals: Armitra Esports, with a heavily revamped line-up but featuring players with extensive LAN experience. We wish our partner the best of luck and hope that in a month’s time we’ll be reporting on them as the winners of the Galaxy Cup.
