We covered Team Fairus’s previous matches in the Feather Cup: Autumn Edition in our last article – you can find the link here. This time, we’ll focus on the next two matches the team played during the group stage. After their first two matches, Fairus’s record stood at 1-1, but following their most recent fixtures, the situation in Group D has changed significantly.
Team Fairus is currently one of three teams that have already played four matches, with the final – and most important – group match still to come. It is this match that will decide whether they progress to the play-offs.
A victory that gave hope
On 6 October, Team Fairus faced off against Ignis Five on the de_overpass map. From the very first rounds, it was clear that both teams were well prepared and neither intended to let up. The clash was evenly matched, at times very intense, but it was Team Fairus who managed to keep their cool at crucial moments.
The team skilfully exploited tactical advantages and flashes of individual brilliance from their players, allowing them to finish the match with a 13–9 score. This victory was hugely important for them – thanks to it, they improved their record to 2–1, and the prospect of qualifying for the play-offs became very real.
A cold shower from Vyce Clan
On 10 October, Fairus played their fourth round against Vyce Clan on the de_ancient map. Unfortunately, this match did not go their way. From the start, their opponents set the pace and controlled the game, leaving Fairus with little chance of a comeback.
The match ended with a score of 5:13, which was certainly a disappointment for the team and their fans. Such a one-sided encounter shows that the lads are still searching for their best form and consistency. After four matches played, their record stands at 2–2, with a round difference of -6 – though it is worth noting that one of the matches was won by walkover.
Last chance to prove their strength
Fairus currently sit second in Group D, but the situation in the table is very uncertain. Most teams still have three or four matches left to play, which means the final standings could still change significantly.
Fairus will play their final match against Pirtus Vro – and it is this match that could decide their promotion. After four matches, Fairus have a record of 2–2 and a goal difference of -6. Fairus will not only have to win, but do so convincingly, to improve their goal difference and stay among the group’s top teams.
Time for things to finally ‘click’
Team Fairus’s results in recent matches have been mixed, but this comes as no surprise. The team has recently strengthened its line-up with a new player who is still settling in with the rest of the squad. There are moments of excellent teamwork and potential which, if fully realised, could give them the edge in crucial clashes.
Now they face their most important test. Team Fairus has everything it takes to fight for a place in the play-offs, but it must prove it on the server.
