Horizon Esports’ recent form in the ESEA Intermediate has been mixed. They started the season with a 2–1 record, but soon found themselves at 3–3. However, their most recent defeat has pushed them into negative territory at 3–4. How are they faring now, and have they got back on track?
Relegation battles
In the first match featured in today’s article, they were due to face the Romanian team baiters. However, baiters disbanded and the victory was credited to Horizon.
In the next match, our partner wasn’t so lucky and had to play the game. It was against the Turkish side Rebel Stars on the Anubis map. The match began with a won pistol round, thanks to which the Poles took a two-point lead shortly afterwards. It didn’t end there, however, and they extended their lead by another point. After three rounds, the opponents levelled the score at 3–3, and Horizon Esports began to face financial difficulties. Despite this, they managed to win the next round, taking a 4–3 lead. Their opponents didn’t let them enjoy the lead for long, winning three rounds in a row to make it 6–4. The first half ended 7–5 in favour of the Turkish side.
The second pistol round only extended that lead, bringing the score to 9–5. After the first full-on clash, victory once again went to Rebel Stars, bringing the score to 11–5 shortly afterwards. From that point, Horizon fought their way back into the match, winning four rounds in a row. However, this wasn’t enough, as their opponents broke that run and won two rounds, thereby sealing the match with a 13–9 scoreline.
The most recent match so far was on VAKSA. Horizon, however, lost this encounter without much of a fight by a score of 2–13, bringing their record in ESEA Intermediate to 4–6.
