The weeks are ticking by in Arrma’s 13th season, and most teams are slowly approaching the halfway point of the regular season. It’s no different for NSQ, who are competing in the Open division this season. So far, Neptyk Squad have been in excellent form and, after four matches, boast a perfect 4–0 record.
Although their run of victories is impressive, their round record falls slightly short of perfection. Nevertheless, if the team maintains its current form in the second half of the season, it will undoubtedly be one of the main contenders for promotion to the Rising division.
Victory after victory – NSQ take maximum points at the Arrmy Open
Although NSQ can boast a perfect win record, their round record is not quite as impressive. This is all down to two walkovers which, although they earned the team points, left them with just one round each to their name. This, in turn, could prove significant when it comes to determining league positions, particularly in the event of a points tie. Nevertheless, the Neptyk Squad players are well aware that head-to-head clashes and maintaining concentration in the upcoming matches will be the most important factors.
Neptyk Squad’s matches so far have been a mix of dominance, fierce battles and technical victories, so it’s time to take a look at how their season has started.
NSQ 13:0 POLISHACKERS | Anubis
Neptyk Squad kicked off the 13th season of the Arrmy Open in style, giving their opponents a real show of strength. The match, played on the Anubis map, ended 13:0 – a result that speaks for itself. From the very start, Neptyk dictated the pace, not allowing their opponents even a moment to catch their breath. It was a demonstration of efficiency and control that immediately established the team as one of the serious contenders for promotion.
Although the result suggests a one-sided contest, there are always many factors behind such an outcome. A superbly organised defence, smooth transitions between rounds, as well as the players’ confidence and teamwork. In the clash with POLISHACKERS, every aspect of NSQ’s game functioned like a well-oiled machine, both on the CT and TT sides. Such a start not only boosts the team’s morale but also sends a clear signal to other teams that Neptycy haven’t come here on holiday.
NSQ 13:10 AIMLABNND | Train
The second match of the season presented the Neptyks with far more challenges than the opening fixture. On Train, they faced AIMLAB Nic Nie Daje, a team that showed from the very first rounds that they could fight for every round and wouldn’t give up the match without a fight. Although NSQ had to work hard, in the end it was they who secured the points, winning 13:10.
The match was fiercely contested from the outset, with neither side able to establish a clear advantage. The result was only decided in the final rounds, during which Neptyk Squad kept their cool and tipped the balance in their favour. Certain decisions, consistent communication and experience proved crucial at that stage – exactly what is needed in a closely fought match to emerge victorious.
This result is not only their second win of the season, but also a valuable lesson that even with a good record, you have to be prepared for difficult moments. And, as we can see, NSQ are capable of coming through them unscathed.
NSQ 1:0 LOUSY COOKS | walkover
The third fixture on NSQ’s schedule was due to be against LOUSY COOKS, but the opponents failed to turn up on the server, resulting in a walkover. Although every win brings promotion a step closer, this sort of victory leaves a bit of a hollow feeling, especially when the team is on a roll and would like to maintain their match rhythm. Admittedly, more points are added to the league table, but only a symbolic ‘one’ is added to the round’s record.
NSQ 1:0 120KG INDUSTRIES | walkover
The next match turns out to be another walkover for NSQ; this time, their opponents from 120KG INDUSTRIES failed to appear on the server, giving Neptyk Squad another technical victory. Consequently, despite earning points, the round tally remains virtually unchanged, which may prove significant later in the season. Whilst this is certainly a convenient way for the team to pick up points, the match lacks that esports adrenaline and genuine competition.
The season is still underway, and NSQ are not slowing down. They still have plenty of challenges ahead of them and will face TEAM DZIENKI today at 8.45 pm, before taking on Do Chrzanu Esports on Saturday, 12 July at 9.15 pm. Both matches promise to be truly hard-fought, which could further intensify the competition in the Open division.
What’s more, the team already knows their next opponents: Pogromcy ONCESTW and POLI$H GLU3. The dates for these matches are yet to be confirmed, but one thing is certain: NSQ will be keen to prove that they belong at the top of the table. Will they manage to maintain their excellent run of form and achieve their goal of promotion?
