Just a few days ago, we were reporting on the start of the season for Gloris eSports following the line-up change, and they are already just one match away from the halfway point. Yesterday they played two matches, which I will try to summarise in this article. The first took place at 8 pm against Struktura, and the second at 9.15 pm against Valiance.
A chance for a positive record – vs Struktura
After their first few matches, our partner had a 1-1 record, so the third match in the series was a chance to get back on track with a positive record. As I mentioned earlier, they faced a team called Struktura, who are newcomers to this level of competition. The map was Mirage, and our Gloris started on the attacking side. The pistol round went well, and thanks to that, they managed to take a quick 2-0 lead. They also managed to win the opponents’ first full round, which meant a 4-0 lead. It didn’t end there, as our partner’s lethal run continued; the opponents only managed to stop it in the 8th round. From that point on, it was all downhill for Struktura, and the first half of the match ended with a 7-5 victory for Gloris eSports.
The second half began with the opponents winning the pistol round, which quickly saw them level the score at 7-7. The first full round was crucial, and fortunately it went to our partner, but we couldn’t reduce the economic gap enough to force the opponents into an eco-round, so they responded in kind and we saw the score level again at 8-8. Thanks to this win, the team gained momentum and in the blink of an eye took an 11-8 lead, being just two rounds away from victory. Our partner finally responded; first there were two rounds, which turned into four, and with the score at 12-11, the fate of the match was decided. However, our partner managed to win the final round, so we didn’t have to go to overtime, and Gloris moved into positive territory. The MVP for Gloris eSports was none other than Dappy, who had only just joined the team, proving that it was worth promoting him to the main squad.

The battle for an ever-improving record – vs Valiance
Gloris eSports’ next opponent was Valiance, who, despite being a newcomer this season, are currently top of the table, going into this match with a 3-0 record. It didn’t look like it would be an easy match, and it took place on Anubis. Our partner started on the defending side and managed to win the pistol round, giving them a 2-0 lead. When the opponents found their feet, fully kitted out, the problems began. Initially, they drew level, then took the lead, eventually going 6-2 ahead. That’s when our partner reacted and managed to win a round. However, it was a drop in the ocean, as Valiance returned to dominance, giving them a 9-3 lead at half-time. The second half could have swung the other way, but mainly if our partner had won the pistol round. That didn’t happen, however, and our opponents finished what they’d started, winning the entire match 13-3.
