From speculation to an official announcement
Not long ago, we reported that Gloris eSports had forfeited their final match in the ESEA league. The reason was a shortage of players, which immediately sparked a great deal of questions and speculation amongst the team’s fans. Some suggested that the team was experiencing internal problems, whilst others pointed to the possibility of an impending line-up change. At the time, it was difficult to speak in terms of facts, but we now know that there was indeed more going on behind the scenes.
Wilczureq_ joins the starting line-up
On 17 September, Gloris eSports announced on its official X profile that a new player – Wilczureq_ – was joining the first team. Until then, he had been representing the organisation’s academy, which he joined in May this year. Interestingly, the official announcement regarding his move to the academy did not appear until 30 June. So history has come full circle. This time, too, the squad change took place first, and it was only some time later that the community learnt the details.
Wilczureq will replace mvciasa- in the starting line-up, who thus ends his time with Gloris eSports’ first team. The team’s decision came as no surprise to those who had been closely following recent matches. It was already evident during the ESEA league matches that Wilczureq was playing alongside MSK, Dappy, Trixen and Papi. This is a clear sign that the team wanted to see how the young player would fare as a full member of the squad.
Judging by his performances, it’s hardly surprising that the coaching staff decided to give him a chance. Wilczureq stands out for his calmness and composure, which are extremely valuable in CS2. Added to this is his desire to continue developing and his strong determination – qualities that fit perfectly with the team’s philosophy of consistently building its squad around promising players.
However, the change in the line-up raises questions. Was it forced by personnel issues, or did it stem from a long-term vision for the team’s development? We do not know this, and we are unlikely to learn the behind-the-scenes details. The fact remains, however, that Gloris eSports has officially decided to take this step and will now be preparing for the challenges ahead with its new player.

Fans of the team can rest assured that we’ll be seeing this quintet in action very soon. Their next tests will be appearances in the ESEA Intermediate S55 season and the Arrmy league. On top of that, there are various online and offline tournaments in which Gloris eSports will certainly want to try their hand.
Undoubtedly, the team is entering a new phase. On the one hand, it is saying goodbye to a long-serving player; on the other, it is opening the door to a young talent who has the chance to bring fresh energy to the team. If Wilczureq makes the most of his opportunity, Gloris eSports could gain a solid reinforcement and the stability that has been lacking in recent weeks.
Summary
Roster changes in esports teams always stir up emotions. Fans are divided into supporters and opponents of such changes, but time usually reveals whether the decision was the right one. In the case of Gloris eSports, all we can do is wish both the new player and the whole team the best of luck. Upcoming matches will answer the question of whether this move will prove to be a masterstroke and enable the team to achieve better results on the domestic stage, and perhaps even on the international stage in the future.
