CLANAREA is joining our partners! A tournament featuring a LAN final in Katowice is coming up

- -

On the Polish Counter-Strike 2 scene, new initiatives are constantly emerging, aimed at bringing together players, teams and the entire community around shared competition. One of the latest projects developing in this direction is CLANAREA, a platform aimed at CS2 players, which is expanding its capabilities with each new update. We are therefore delighted to announce that CLANAREA is joining the ranks of Superion.gg’s partners!

Our new partner does not limit its activities solely to organising tournaments. CLANAREA is, first and foremost, a place where players can find a team, players for their squad, opponents to play with, or simply people interested in Counter-Strike 2. One of the project’s key features is the player and team profiles, along with an advert system that allows users to search for players, teams, coaches or organisations, amongst other things.

The project is still in its early stages, but its creators are already demonstrating that they have ambitious plans for the development of the Polish CS2 community. One of the first major steps in this direction is the organisation of the ClanArea Cup. This is a series of tournaments that will combine online competition with a LAN final. It is this event that we’ll be taking a closer look at.

CLANAREA – a hub for players, teams and the entire CS2 community

CLANAREA officially launched in beta on 1 July 2026. From the outset, the aim of the project was to create a space where Counter-Strike 2 players could not only compete, but also more easily find people to play with and build their own teams. Behind the project are Michał Pilcicki and Kacper Wilczewski, who are developing the platform in their spare time, balancing work on CLANAREA with their day jobs.

Currently, users can, amongst other things, create their own profiles, set up teams, browse other players’ profiles and post advertisements. The latter allow users to search for players, teams, coaches or esports organisations. In practice, this means that CLANAREA can be a useful resource both for players looking for their first serious team and for teams finalising their line-up for competitions. The platform already features adverts concerning, amongst other things, playing in ESEA, forming new mixed teams, or seeking players for specific positions.

However, the developers do not intend to stop at the current features. Plans include, amongst other things, the further development of training servers, a system for organising friendly matches, player and team rankings, and a seasonal league. The platform also has its own tournament system, and esports competitions are one of the key areas of development.

In recent weeks, CLANAREA has also expanded its activities to include a streaming section. Users can link their profiles to Twitch or Kick, and active streams are then displayed on the platform. It is now also possible to apply to become a commentator for CLANAREA matches. In this way, the project is gradually moving beyond simply matching teams and organising tournaments, creating a hub that brings together players, streamers, commentators and other members of the CS2 scene.

It is precisely this combination of social features and esports competition that makes CLANAREA an interesting addition to the Polish Counter-Strike 2 scene. And the best example of the direction the project is taking is the ClanArea Cup, which is being organised in September.

Four qualifiers and a grand LAN final in Katowice

The ClanArea Cup will be the first tournament of this scale organised by CLANAREA and, at the same time, a project designed to combine the world of online competition with the excitement of a real LAN event. The journey to the final will begin in September, when four separate qualifying tournaments will be held. Importantly, participation in these is completely free of charge.

The first qualifier will take place on 4–5 September, with the second following a week later, on 11–12 September. The subsequent stages are scheduled for 18–19 and 25–26 September. Each qualifier will be open to a maximum of 16 teams, and the competition will be run as a single-elimination tournament. This means that a single defeat ends a team’s participation in that round. However, teams that fail to win will be able to try their luck in subsequent qualifying rounds.

The tournament format has been designed to determine a single winner over the course of two days. The round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played in a BO1 format, whilst the decider in each qualifier will be a BO3. A total of 15 matches will be played during each round.

The prize for victory is, however, the most important aspect. Every team that wins its qualifier will be directly promoted to the grand LAN final. In this way, after four weekends, we will know the four finalists who will face off in the decisive clash in Katowice. The organisers plan to hold the final on 25 October at GameSpot Katowice, where the best teams will battle it out for the title of the first ClanArea Cup champion.

It is also known at this stage that the prize pool comprises approximately 2,500 zł in vouchers and prizes from KOMFIG.com, the event’s main partner. However, the organisers are in talks with further sponsors, so the final value of the prizes may still increase. What is particularly important for participants, however, is that there is no entry fee to reach the final.

Four qualifiers, four tickets to the LAN event and just one team that will ultimately be able to claim the championship title. This format means that each of the September rounds could provide plenty of excitement. But at the same time, it gives teams more than one chance to reach the final stage.

A new partner, new opportunities for the CS2 scene

CLANAREA joining our circle of partners is, above all, another step towards bringing together various initiatives aimed at developing Polish Counter-Strike 2. This is a project that is only just gaining momentum, but it is already focused on bringing together the community, competition and the organisation of esports events.

Players may find it particularly interesting to use CLANAREA as a place to build teams, scout players and network with others in the scene. Meanwhile, the ClanArea Cup demonstrates that the platform also aims to provide the community with a dedicated space for competition – complete with the chance to culminate the journey at a real LAN event.

We are delighted to be able to follow the development of this project as its partner. At the same time, we are supporting initiatives that give more teams the chance to showcase their skills. We welcome CLANAREA to the programme and are keeping our fingers crossed for the successful organisation of the first edition of the ClanArea Cup. For now, all we can do is wait… Because as early as September, we’ll find out which teams will be taking to the stage in Katowice in October!
