Promotion within reach – Fairus at ALS

- -

The second season of the Amateur Server League has already kicked off! The tournament is played using the Swiss system, which means that some teams have already secured their place in the next round with a 3–0 record. Team Fairus, however, still has to fight for its place in the next stage of the competition.

Fairus at a crossroads – battling it out with a 1–1 record

Unfortunately, Fairus did not get off to the start they’d hoped for, suffering a defeat in their first match. On the Inferno map, they faced Constrict Gaming, one of our partners, but their rivals proved too strong an opponent. The match ended in a one-sided 13–2 result, which was certainly not a good start for Team Fairus.

From the very first rounds, Constrict Gaming imposed their style of play, effectively controlling key positions on the map. Fairus tried to respond, but they lacked both effectiveness in attack and a solid defence. Their opponents mercilessly capitalised on every mistake, gradually extending their lead.

Despite this defeat, Fairus still had a chance to turn the tournament around. Thanks to the Swiss system, every team gets several opportunities to prove their worth, so this match was merely a difficult start to their campaign. The following matches would decide whether Fairus could get back on the winning track and fight for promotion.

  • Legions 2:13 Team Fairus, Anubis

Fairus quickly shook off their poor start and showed their strength in the second match. This time, on the Anubis map, they faced Legions and set the pace of the contest right from the start. The match once again ended with a lopsided score of 2:13, but this time it was Fairus who could celebrate victory.

From the very first rounds, Team Fairus controlled the flow of the match, effectively securing key positions and limiting their opponents’ room for manoeuvre. Their aggressive yet well-thought-out offensive plays allowed them to quickly build a lead, whilst their solid performance on the CT side left Legions with no chance of successfully breaching the bombsites. Their opponents tried various tactics, but each time they were met with a well-organised defence and effective counter-attacks from Fairus.

This victory not only improved the team’s record to 1–1, but also gave them confidence ahead of their upcoming matches. They proved that they can dominate their opponents and remain in contention for a place in the next stage of the tournament.

How did Fairus fare in Round 3?

  • VIPERS 11:13 Team Fairus, Anubis

Fairus clearly feel right at home on the Anubis map – this is the team’s second match on this map in this ALS season, and once again they emerged victorious. After a difficult start to the season and a painful defeat on Inferno, the team had something to prove. It was certainly not an easy match – their rivals from VIPERS put up a tough fight, and the match remained very evenly balanced for a long time, which only raised the stakes.

The match was full of excitement, and Team Fairus had to demonstrate not only great patience but also superb efficiency at crucial moments. With each successive round, the battle for victory became increasingly intense. In the final stages of the clash, however, the team showed that it is not only their skills but also the experience gained in previous ALS seasons that is their great strength. Incidentally, I’d like to remind you that Fairus is a team that has claimed victory in previous editions of the tournament, so they know how to cope with immense pressure. This experience certainly helped them at the decisive moments – excellent communication, precise decision-making and composure allowed them to dominate their opponents in the crucial rounds.

Ultimately, although the VIPERS put up a stiff fight, Team Fairus emerged victorious, winning 11–13. This victory not only improved their record in the tournament but also served as a reminder to everyone that Fairus remains one of the most dangerous rivals in the league. They showed that they have no intention of giving up the title without a fight and are still in contention for the top spots.

  • vs Space Masters [Head-to-head record: 2–1]

Although the road to promotion has not been easy, the team has proved that it can compete at the highest level and has no intention of giving up the title without a fight. Fairus still has at least one match to go, but if they manage to win it, they will secure promotion. The next match will therefore be crucial, but one thing is certain – Team Fairus has everything it takes to take on the best teams and fight for the top spots in the tournament.
