The LORGAR RANKINGS – Poland Qualifier, organised by StarLadder, featured several teams from our partner programme. A number of squads decided to test their mettle against a wide range of often very tough opponents, battling for the best possible result and valuable experience. Although the standard of play varied and the bracket wasn’t always favourable, each team showed flashes of solid play and potential that could pay dividends in the future. For some teams, it was a brief appearance. For others, however, it was an opportunity to play a few intense matches and make their mark on the tournament. So let’s take a look at how our partners fared in these contests. From the teams that went a little further to those whose participation ended sooner.
Our partners’ best performances in the LORGAR Rankings
Among the teams that can speak of a relatively successful performance, Avalanche.gg and Vandals Clan stand out. Both teams managed to progress through several stages of the tournament and showed that they can compete at a solid level. Particularly when compared to the other teams in our partner programme.
Avalanche.gg began their campaign in very convincing fashion, dominating their opponents with a 13-0 scoreline. From the very start, they displayed great confidence and control over the course of the match. The next match, however, proved far more challenging… The clash with FC POSREDNIAK ended with a score of 13–11. It was a closely contested match in which Avalanche.gg had to maintain their concentration right until the very end to ultimately tip the balance of victory in their favour. Their run came to an end in the third round following an 8:13 defeat to BrasilStyle. Ultimately, however, they showed that they are capable of competing against strong opponents and are on a par with more experienced teams.
Vandals Clan went even further, looking very confident for most of the tournament and consistently executing their game plan. After an initial walkover, they quickly found their rhythm, winning 13-4 in their next match, where they imposed their style of play from the outset and controlled the pace of the game. They then benefited from another walkover, which allowed them to stay fresh but may also have affected their match continuity. Despite this, they demonstrated their quality in the next clash, defeating BrasilStyle 13–2, which was one of the most one-sided and impressive results.
It was only the clash with KOLESIE that ended their participation in the qualifiers. They lost that match 7–13, though the result does not fully reflect their performance. Vandals Clan were able to put up a close fight at times, but ultimately lacked effectiveness in the crucial rounds. Despite the defeat, they can count this tournament as a success, having demonstrated consistent form, good preparation and the potential for further development in future competitions.
Shorter runs in the qualifiers
Not all teams managed to spread their wings in these qualifiers, however. VoFoxen and Constrict Gaming saw their participation come to an end much sooner, though they too had their moments which showed that, had the tournament gone differently, they could have achieved a little more.
VoFoxen started the tournament very promisingly, securing a resounding 13-2 victory. Even in that match, it was clear that the team could dictate the pace of play and capitalise effectively on their opponents’ mistakes. Strong individual performances and control over the match’s flow suggested the team would fight for a place in the next rounds. Unfortunately, in their next clash they faced a much tougher opponent who took the initiative from the start. The 4–13 defeat was clear-cut and ended their participation as early as the second stage of the competition. Nevertheless, it is worth emphasising that the first match demonstrated this team’s potential. Greater consistency and a better start to tougher matches could yield better results in the future.
The situation was similar for Constrict Gaming, though their path through the tournament was decidedly less conventional. The team started with a bye and then received a walkover. As a result, they did not have the opportunity to test themselves in direct competition for quite some time. It was only their third match that served as a real test of their form, though the lack of prior match practice may have had a significant impact on their performance. In their match against Phantom Esports, they lost 3-13, struggling both to get into the game and to keep up with the pace set by their opponents.
Ultimately, their participation ended without them playing many maps, which certainly leaves a sense of disappointment. Especially as it is difficult to assess their full potential with any certainty. In such tournaments, match rhythm often plays a key role, and its absence was clearly evident. Despite their brief campaign, both teams gained valuable experience that may pay dividends in future appearances.
Summary
Our partners’ participation in the LORGAR Rankings qualifiers was a mix of solid performances and early exits. Some teams showed they can compete at a high level and progress through the rounds. Whilst others still need to work on their consistency and tournament experience. Regardless of the results, every performance is a valuable lesson and a step towards development. We hope that the experience gained will pay off in future tournaments. Meanwhile, our partners will return even stronger, ready for further competition and the fight for higher goals.
