Season 54 of the ESEA league kicked off in mid-July and since then many teams have been playing matches there on a regular basis. One of them is our partner team, VoFoxen. They finished the regular season with a 7-7 record, which saw them enter the playoffs in Pot B. This bracket is characterised by the fact that promotion is only possible to the league immediately above. Naturally, this was VoFoxen’s goal. The first two playoff matches went their way, and yesterday they played a promotion match against the Polish team Jamniki.

The clash was set to begin with a battle on Nuke, chosen by the Foxes. However, a very interesting and rare occurrence took place. Namely, the opponents either failed to show up for the first map or were late, resulting in a walkover. This was not a surrender of the entire match, but only of the single map chosen by our partner. Thanks to this, VoFoxen effortlessly took a 1-0 lead in maps and were just 13 rounds away from victory.
MIRAGE

pick: 13:9 Jamniki
As I mentioned earlier, the second map took place, and the one chosen for it was Mirage, often referred to as the ‘Polish’ map. The thing about this map is that the CT side is much easier to play than the attacking side. A 6-6 draw after the TT side was completed is considered a fairly good result. VoFoxen began what was perhaps the decisive match on this side. The first half went well, despite a few difficulties, as they managed to secure a 6:6 draw.
The second half, however, was quite a different story from the first. Our partner got off to a good start and, as a result, was inexorably closing in on victory in this match. It ended with a score of 13:9, meaning the Foxes have officially joined the ESEA Intermediate league, where they will play their matches in Season 55. Nrage was a crucial pillar for VoFoxen in this match. He managed to achieve stats of 22K/12D and a K/D of 1.83, which is a truly impressive result.
What lies ahead for our partner?
VoFoxen now has a well-deserved break from league play and is looking forward to the start of the next season. During the pre-season, aside from training, our partner will most likely play in a couple of underground tournaments. We already know they’re signed up for the Ascent Legacy Series, where they’ve managed to play their first match.
