At the start of the month, we announced that VoFoxen Esport had become our partner. This season, they’re taking on the challenges of the Arrmy Open and ESEA Entry. This is a fairly entry-level competition compared to some of our other partners, but the squad they have on board is developing rapidly, and we believe that we’ll soon be able to report on their promotions.
Season opener – vs M0vez Drag0ns
Our new partner’s first opponent was the French team M0vez Drag0ns, for whom this is their first season at this level of competition. The match took place on the Inferno map, where VoFoxen started on the TT side. They managed to win the pistol round and took a 2–0 lead as a result. Their opponents quickly fought back, bringing the score to 2–2. However, the players from our partner team did not let their opponents take the lead, securing a 6–2 lead for themselves. The French side managed to win two rounds, but that was the extent of their success in that half. VoFoxen won every round from then on, securing a lead over their opponents and ending the first half with a score of 8–4.
The second half didn’t start too well for them, as the Dragons won the pistol round and even managed to score a contact point. The match was even tied at one point, but that’s when our partner team began to turn things around. They managed to take the lead and held on to it until the end of the match. It all ended with a score of 13:8, and VoFoxen made a successful debut in the ESEA Entry League. The euphoria couldn’t last long, though, as they had to focus on their next match, which was due to take place two days later.

A tougher opponent, a close match – vs FiveViewersMax
As I mentioned above, two days after their previous match, VoFoxen played another, this time against an international team. The map changed – this time it was Mirage – and our team started on the defending side. In the pistol round, our opponents proved the better side and took an early 2–0 lead. We managed a single reply, but then FiveViewers went on to win the next few rounds. The turning point came at 4–1, when VoFoxen Esport began their comeback, first securing the contact point and then capitalising on it to level the score. They didn’t stop there and turned the early deficit around, taking a 7–4 lead. However, the final round of the first half went to the international side, bringing the score to 7–5.
In the second half, our partner managed to win the first round and extend their lead to 10–5. Their opponents, however, were not to be outdone and began their own comeback. They managed to win five rounds without defeat, thereby levelling the score. Such a loss of the lead might have affected the morale of many teams, but not the Poles, who won two consecutive rounds, taking the match to two match points. They failed to capitalise on the first, and unfortunately on the second as well, so we were left watching extra time.
The first half didn’t end well, as VoFoxen lost it 14–13. However, they were on the attacking side and were expected to bounce back on the defensive side. Unfortunately, from the very first round, our opponents applied pressure, creating match points, and not a single one was successfully defended by our team. The match, of course, ended in a 16–13 defeat, adding our first loss to the record. Unfortunately, matches like this, where you can see you’re not the weaker side, do happen from time to time, and that was certainly the case here.
