Summary of the first round of SEASON 5 – SPLIT 1.

We recently had the chance to watch the drivers in action at a tournament organised by the World League of Players.

This time, the race track was the “Red Bull Ring”, familiar to most F1 fans. The qualifying session on the track itself was won by One-Armed Kubica, who clocked a time of under 1:11.000, securing a 0.208-second lead over second-placed Maks Radomski. After qualifying and the drivers having familiarised themselves with their pole positions, everyone was ready for the actual race to begin after the break.

Jednoręki Kubica did not lose the lead after the race started, whilst the driver who had finished last in qualifying did not turn up for the race, thus taking the last, 19th place. That driver was WhiteRangerZZ. Right at the start of the third lap, there was a shake-up at the front, as One-Armed Kubica lost his lead to Maks Radomski. The battle between the two was quite fierce, and they swapped positions quite frequently throughout the race, so they were tipped as the favourites to win at the Red Bull Arena. Unfortunately, on the seventh lap, Slajtla, starting from fifteenth place, likely had a technical problem and also ended the race with a disqualification. Jednoręki Kubica dropped to third place, as Bartek Klaudel joined the leading pair, jumping into second place. Over the course of 19 laps, the leading pair built up an incredible lead over the third-placed driver, which stood at over ten seconds. Bartek Klaudel took the lead on the twenty-fifth lap. Meanwhile, a collision occurred between Klper in fifth and Fif in fourth. The latter must certainly have been deeply frustrated, as it was Klper who crashed into the back of Fif’s car. This collision cost him a significant number of places, as he dropped to thirteenth and effectively ended his chances of winning the race.

In the end, fifteen drivers finished this exciting race, and the post-race standings were as follows:
