The new ESEA season has officially kicked off, and our partners, representing various divisions, have entered the fray. From Open, through Entry and Intermediate, right up to Main. For some teams, these were their first official matches with new line-ups; for others, it was an opportunity to make a strong start to the season and make their mark in the league.
We take a look at how our partners’ first matches went. Who started the season with a win, and who will need to find a breakthrough quickly in the coming rounds.
Open9 partners – the battle for a stable start to the season
The Open9 division is a level where every point counts, and the start of the season often sets the tone for the rest of the campaign. Here, the margin for error is slim, and closely contested matches are the norm.
TW E-Sports
TW E-Sports kicked off the new ESEA season with a demanding clash that promised to be a closely fought contest from the very start. Their first opponent was VyreX Esports, with Overpass serving as the battleground. Both teams traded rounds for a long time, not allowing their opponent to build a clear lead. The outcome of the match was decided by the finer details in the final stages of the map, where VyreX kept their cool, winning 10:13. Despite the defeat, the result shows that TW E-Sports are performing at a level that allows them to compete effectively in the Open9 division and can look forward to the rest of the season with optimism.
Open 10 partners – a large contingent and mixed feelings
Open 10 is one of the most crowded divisions, where the competition is extremely intense and every match can bring surprises. It is here that we see the largest number of our partners.
YNG SKiLLZ
The YNG SKiLLZ team entered the new ESEA season with a revamped line-up, making their first match one of the most eagerly anticipated debuts among our partners. Kondzio and Szpar3k joined the team’s six-man roster; for them, this was their official debut in YNG SKiLLZ colours and, at the same time, their first test in league conditions.
The opening match was against ArbuzikiPrime, with Nuke selected as the map. This is a map that demands good communication and teamwork, which posed an additional challenge given the recent squad changes. Despite an ambitious performance and moments showcasing the new line-up’s potential, the team failed to tip the balance in their favour, losing 10:13. Although the result was not the ideal start to the season, this performance can be seen as a foundation for the team’s further development and better results in upcoming matches.
Lunacy NXT
The Lunacy NXT squad is approaching the current ESEA season with confidence, undeterred by the league’s new restrictions. The organisation’s academy competes in the Open division, whilst Lunacy Gaming’s main squad plays one tier higher, in Intermediate.
However, the start of the season did not go according to plan for Lunacy NXT. In their opening match against PNF Gaming, the team had to concede defeat, losing 4-13 on Dust 2. The result points to a difficult start to the season, but given the character of the squad, subsequent matches may bring improvement as the team’s chemistry grows and they become more accustomed to the league scene.
Panico eSports
Panico eSports had by far the best start to the season in the Open10 division. Our international partner dictated the terms from the very start against dyyou band, leaving their opponents little room to manoeuvre. The match on Overpass was clearly one-sided, as reflected in the final score of 13:1.
Such a resounding victory in the very first match of the season sends a strong signal to the rest of the field. Panico eSports not only secured maximum points but also demonstrated that they could be one of the teams to seriously challenge for the top spots in their division.
Visionary
Visionary has less cause for celebration at the start of the season, having faced deko mentality in their first ESEA match. The match was played on Nuke, a map requiring good game organisation and effective teamwork. This time, however, their rivals adapted better to the match conditions, which resulted in a final score of 6:13 in their favour.
The defeat in the opening match means a tougher start to the season for Visionary, but the season is only just getting underway. The team will still have plenty of opportunities to learn from their first match, make up for lost points and gradually improve their position in the table.
Carpathian Roja
Carpathian Roja can count their start to the new ESEA season as a great success. In their opening match in the Open10 division, the team faced Logie2, with Mirage serving as the arena for the contest. Right from the opening rounds, Carpathian Roja displayed a confident and organised performance, effectively executing their tactical plan. The lead they built allowed the team to control the flow of the match, which ultimately resulted in a 13-7 victory.
This result is not only a valuable three points to start the season but also bodes well for the upcoming matches. Carpathian Roja is showing that it can be a formidable opponent in its division and is entering the rest of the season with optimism.
Partners in Entry – a French derby
The Entry Division is often the first serious test within the ESEA structure. What’s more, it is a place where teams compete not only for results but also for long-term consistency.
Saturlity Esport
Our French partners from Saturlity Esport kicked off the new ESEA season with a unique, all-French clash. In this fratricidal showdown, they faced their compatriots from Les Petits du Quartier. This alone promised a closely contested and fierce battle right from the start. The battle took place on Nuke, where neither side was able to establish a comfortable lead for a long time.
The final result was decided by crucial rounds in the closing stages of the match, during which Saturlity Esport kept their cool and made better use of their opportunities. The 13-10 victory marks a valuable start to the season and bodes well for the upcoming matches in the Entry division.
Intermediate opponents – a higher level, greater challenges
Intermediate is a division where the differences between teams are minimal, and every mistake can prove very costly. Here, the competition takes on a distinctly more demanding character.
VoFoxen
VoFoxen kicked off the new ESEA season in fine style, immediately demonstrating that they are well prepared for competition in the Intermediate division. In their first match, the Foxes faced Senshi eSports, with Nuke serving as the arena for the clash. The match was evenly balanced from the start, with both teams staying neck and neck for a long time.
Ultimately, VoFoxen handled the crucial moments of the match better, which allowed them to secure a 13-11 victory. Such a result at the start of the season is not just a full haul of points; it is also a strong signal that the team could be a formidable opponent for the other sides in their division.
Victoria Nostra
ViNo will not count the start of the season as a success. In their opening match against Pandaric Main, the team had to concede defeat, losing 6–13 on Ancient. The match showed that the team is still finding its rhythm and full form for the new season. Their opponents, on the other hand, were able to capitalise effectively on the key moments of the map.
Despite the defeat, Victoria Nostra has a long season ahead of them, during which they will be able to gradually improve their performances and find ways to compete effectively in the Intermediate division. This start is, above all, a valuable lesson and an opportunity to learn from their mistakes ahead of future matches.
Lunacy Gaming
Lunacy Gaming’s main squad also had to start the season with a tough test. In their first match against Deorum, the team faced off on the Ancient map. A map where every round demanded precise teamwork and good coordination. Despite their efforts, Lunacy failed to turn the match around and ultimately lost 5–13.
This result marks a challenging start to the season… At the same time, it provides the team with plenty of reference points that could help improve their play in future matches. The season is only just beginning, and the team’s form could still improve as they gain experience in the Intermediate division.
Partners in the Main – the highest level of competition
Main is the direct feeder division for ESEA Advanced. It is a division where every match carries immense weight and the level of competition is extremely high.
Nexium POLteam
Nexium POLteam can count their start to the season as a success. In their opening match, they faced INCEPTOR on the Mirage map. However, the match was evenly contested and demanded full concentration from both teams. Ultimately, POLteam performed better in the crucial moments, winning 13-9.
A victory to start the season gives the team not only maximum points, but also confidence and a positive boost for the rest of the competition in the Main division. It is a strong signal that Nexium POLteam will be a force to be reckoned with in the battle for the top spots in the league.
Constrict Gaming
Constrict Gaming, meanwhile, is still awaiting its season debut. Their opening match has been postponed, and the team has yet to play a single game. The team will have the chance to enter the competition in the coming weeks and fight for its place in the Main Division table.
So how did our partners fare at the start of the season?
The first few rounds of ESEA have shown that our partners have had very mixed results. Some teams, such as Panico eSports and VoFoxen, have started the season with impressive victories. Others, however, such as Victoria Nostra and Lunacy Gaming, are struggling to find their form after a difficult start.
However, the start of the season is always a time for learning and adapting to new line-ups and changes in the league. Despite the defeats, each team still has plenty of opportunities to improve their results, or to build consistent form and fight for the top spots in their divisions. What is certain, however, is that there will be no shortage of excitement in the ESEA featuring our partners, and the upcoming rounds promise to be just as thrilling.
