Like all organisations in the ESEA Open, Firewolf Clan were hoping to be promoted to the Intermediate division. Unfortunately for them, this will not be possible this season due to their defeats – first in the upper bracket of the play-offs, and then in the lower bracket, after which they were eliminated. Firewolf are unlikely to look back on this season too negatively, though, as it certainly wasn’t their worst – after all, they did make it to the play-offs.
As for Firewolf’s performance in the current Open season, they finished the league phase with a record of 8 wins and 6 defeats. This record secured them 254th place, which earned them a spot in the play-offs.
Firewolf Clan’s matches in the ESEA Open regular season:

- Firewolf Clan 13:4 0 Cost, Ancient
- Firewolf Clan 13:7 Popelina, Inferno
- Firewolf Clan 7–13 White Ferari, Anubis
- Firewolf Clan 4:13 HAVU, Mirage
- Firewolf Clan 8:13 Monte Junior, Ancient
- Firewolf Clan 19:16 Skyfall eSports, Inferno
- Firewolf Clan 13:4 Haters Academy, Mirage
- Firewolf Clan 11:13 OneShot OneKill, Ancient

- Firewolf Clan 1–0 LusHI, Walkover
- Firewolf Clan 13:11 Hornet Gang, Mirage
- Firewolf Clan 5:13 InActive, Inferno
- Firewolf Clan 10:13 SCMF eSports, Inferno
This is exactly how the Wolves fared in the league stage, i.e. the regular season. After that, Firewolf progressed to the stage where matches were played in a BO3 format – the play-offs – which did not go as well as the regular season.
Firewolf Clan’s matches in the ESEA Open play-offs:
- Firewolf Clan 2–0 RedRhino
Mirage 13–10
Train 13–11 - Firewolf Clan 0–2 Ronins
Anubis 5–13
Train 8–13 - Firewolf Clan 2–0 Turbo Snails
(walkover) - Firewolf Clan 0–2 Skyfall eSports
: Train 9–13
, Anubis 11–13
And so, bizarrely, Skyfall – who had lost to Firewolf Clan in the league stage – knocked the Wolves out of the tournament and dashed their hopes of promotion to the ESEA Intermediate division. Certainly, the fact that the Firewolf players had previously beaten Skyfall doesn’t help, and it’s all the more painful because they knew full well that victory was possible.
There’s nothing left to do but prepare for the next season and prove there that this defeat was simply a blip, and that Skyfall were just lucky, as they didn’t dominate a single map anyway.
