The situation is no different for our partners competing in ESEA Main, where rounds 6 to 8 have clearly highlighted the teams’ current form. This is the final stretch of the regular season, and the margin for error is getting smaller and smaller. Both Nexium POLteam and Constrict Gaming are entering the decisive stage of the competition in completely different positions in the table. However, in both cases, the upcoming matches could still significantly influence the final standings and a potential battle for higher goals in the league.
Our partners in the final stretch of the ESEA Main regular season
Of course, the end of the ESEA season is a time to assess the form and consistency of the teams. However, the recent rounds have brought mixed results for our partners, clearly showing who has found their rhythm in the final stretch and who is still searching for consistency. Nexium POLteam seems to be slowly overcoming a difficult spell, though the results still do not suggest full stability. Constrict Gaming, on the other hand, quickly returned to winning ways after a minor slip-up and maintains a solid position in the table. Both teams still have two matches remaining, which could determine the final standings of the regular season.
Nexium POLteam
In the case of Nexium POLteam, one can still speak of an attempt to regain form. However, consistency in results remains one of the team’s biggest challenges in the ongoing ESEA Main season. There are moments when the team can play solidly and put up a good fight against their rivals. However, they lack the consistency needed to turn individual good performances into a winning streak. The end of the regular season is a particularly demanding time for them, as the margin for error is practically non-existent, and every subsequent match could realistically affect their final record.
POLteam began the series of matches described today with a 13-10 victory against WeClear on Dust 2. The match was evenly balanced, and for a long time it was unclear which side would take full control of the pace of the game. Ultimately, it was Nexium POLteam who handled the decisive moments better, capitalising on their opponents’ mistakes and seeing the result through to the end. Such a result might have suggested an impending breakthrough and the gaining of much-needed confidence ahead of the next clashes.
In the next match, however, they faced a more in-form Prime LowLandLions 2022. The 8-13 defeat on Overpass showed that the rivals were able to effectively impose their own style of play. Unfortunately, POLteam struggled to maintain stability and take the initiative in key sections of the map. Despite a few successful moments, they were unable to turn the match around.
The series ended with a 6-13 defeat to MyHUD on Inferno, where the opponents controlled the match for most of the time and consistently extended their lead. POLteam lacked a response to their rivals’ well-prepared play, which resulted in a clear difference in the final score. Unfortunately, their current 3–5 record does not put them in a comfortable position ahead of their final two matches, which will be crucial both in terms of improving their results and building better momentum for the remainder of the ESEA season.
Constrict Gaming
Constrict Gaming enters the decisive stage of the ESEA Main regular season from a significantly stronger position than many of their direct rivals. However, this series of matches has shown that even top-tier teams are not entirely immune to the occasional slip-up. The team has shown consistent form for most of the season and is capable of scoring regularly, which translates into a solid position in the table. The end of the season, however, is a time when it is not only form that counts, but also maintaining concentration and consistency in every subsequent match.
The series in question began with a 7-13 defeat against Horizon Esport on Nuke. From the outset, the match did not go Constrict Gaming’s way, with their opponents quickly seizing the initiative and dictating the pace of the game. There were attempts to get back into the match, but there was no sustained run of winning rounds that would have posed a real threat to the opponents. Ultimately, it was more of a blip than a sign of more serious problems.
As it turned out later, the team’s response was immediate. In their next match, Constrict Gaming comfortably defeated Privateer Gaming 13-4, once again on the Nuke map. This time, they controlled the match from the outset, building a lead and not allowing their opponents to get into their stride. The clear difference in the result emphasised that the earlier defeat had not negatively affected the team’s morale.
The series concluded with a 13–11 victory against Prem3aDPOTbl on Dust 2, which was a much more evenly matched contest. However, Constrict Gaming managed to keep their cool at crucial moments and see the favourable result through to the end. As a result, the team maintains a solid 6–2 record and remains in a very strong position ahead of the final two matches of the regular season, which could further strengthen their standing before entering the next phase of the ESEA season.
Time for the decisive weeks of ESEA Main
The end of the ESEA Main regular season promises to be crucial for both our partners, although each finds itself in a completely different position. Nexium POLteam is still fighting to improve its record and secure the best possible finish to the season, which will lay the foundations for the next campaign. Constrict Gaming, on the other hand, is maintaining a stable form and has a real chance of finishing the regular season among the leaders if they can confirm their form in the final matches.
Both teams have two matches remaining, which could significantly influence the final standings. It is at moments like these that it becomes clear which teams can maintain their focus and deliver results under pressure. The upcoming rounds of ESEA Main will therefore not only serve as a summary of their work so far, but also as a test of their readiness for the playoffs.
