Nisla Rakov is taking another step towards developing its Counter-Strike 2 division. The organisation has officially unveiled its academy squad, which is intended to provide a platform for developing young players and building a talent pool for the future. In recent months, an increasing number of Polish organisations have been setting up academy programmes. Nisla Rakov is now joining this group.
Academies have been playing an increasingly important role in esports recently. It is there that young players can gain their first experience in a more structured environment, whilst developing team communication and preparing to compete at a higher level. For the organisation, this is an opportunity to build its own identity and invest in players who may join the first team in the future.
However, Nisła Raków’s new project will not, from the outset, be merely a ‘team for the future’. The academy has very quickly been given the opportunity to make its debut in official competition, as it has already begun its campaign in the ArrMY Masters league qualifiers. This is the first test for the newly announced squad and, at the same time, an opportunity to showcase themselves to a wider audience.
Official presentation of the Nisła Raków academy and first test
On social media, Nisla Rakov officially unveiled the line-up of its academy, which will represent the organisation in the upcoming competitions. The starting five consists of Krux, Dogerb, N1ku, Saudix and Quezqq. Shortly afterwards, the organisation also announced two reserve players… FNXXX and nezixie, who will also be part of the new project.
The announcement of the squad immediately sparked considerable interest amongst those following the underground scene. After all, academies are increasingly becoming a vital part of how esports organisations operate. As we’ve mentioned before, they allow young players to develop and help build a pipeline of talent for the future. For the players, this in turn is an opportunity to gain experience in a more professional environment and to play regularly against increasingly strong opponents.
Nisła Raków’s new squad also very quickly got the chance to make their debut in official competition. The academy began competing today in the ArrMY Masters league qualifiers, where they received a bye in the first round. This allowed the team to prepare calmly for their first match and enter the tournament only from the next stage.
The team is currently facing MISSPEAK on the Mirage map. At the time of writing, Nisła Academy leads 12–2, which could be a very promising start for the newly announced project. Although this is only the team’s first official match, the result shows that the players are capable of getting off to a strong start and playing with great confidence.
The academy project itself may prove to be very important for the organisation in the long term. In Polish Counter-Strike, it is increasingly common to see young squads serving as a breeding ground for players who later move on to more high-profile teams or their organisations’ main rosters. For Nisła Raków, therefore, this is not just another squad, but also an investment in the future of the entire esports section.
The first step in a new project
The announcement of the academy shows that Nisla Rakov wants to expand its presence on the Counter-Strike 2 scene not only through its main squad, but also by working with young players. Projects of this kind often require time, patience and regular gameplay. However, they can bring the organisation significant benefits in the future.
Their debut in the ArrMY Masters qualifiers is the new squad’s first opportunity to test themselves in official matches and start building their own legacy. The opening match against MISSPEAK looks promising, but the most important thing for the team will be, above all, to gain experience regularly and develop over the coming months. For Nisla Rakov fans, this could be an interesting project to follow. Especially if the academy gradually makes its mark in future tournaments and leagues.
