The Nisla Rakov team has had a very successful run in the PeeKee Cup tournament. The side reached the grand final, finishing the competition in second place after a series of tough matches. Although they ultimately fell just short of winning the title, the course of the tournament itself showed that the team is capable of competing with the strongest participants in the event.
Right from the very first matches, Nisla Rakov looked very confident, controlling the flow of their games and not giving their opponents too many chances to turn the tables. Good game organisation, effectiveness at key moments and the consistent form of the entire squad allowed the team to reach the final. There, however, they faced a tough opponent in Quasar.
A confident path to the grand final
The Nisla Rakov players began their PeeKee Cup campaign with a match against Ananaski on the Mirage map. From the very start, the match went Nisła’s way, as they quickly took control of the game. The 13:4 scoreline shows just how big a lead the team managed to build up in the opening rounds. Their opponents were unable to respond consistently to their opponents’ effective play. Nisła Raków, on the other hand, steadily built up their lead right until the end of the map.
Such a convincing victory saw the team advance to the semi-finals, where another challenge awaited… a clash with CzerwonyP on Ancient. Once again, Nisla Rakov put in a very solid performance. The map ended with the same score as the previous match, 13:4. The team once again demonstrated great consistency and effectiveness on both the attacking and defensive sides.
Two convincing victories saw Nisla Rakov advance to the grand final in truly fine style. The round tally and the way the team had performed in subsequent matches gave fans plenty of hope ahead of the tournament’s decisive clash. Their previous form suggested the team was ready to fight for the ultimate triumph.
The Grand Final — Nisła Raków vs Quasar
The grand final against Quasar turned out to be a much more evenly matched contest than Nisła Raków’s previous matches. The best-of-three series produced three maps and plenty of excitement, but ultimately it was Quasar who claimed victory with a 2-1 scoreline. The final itself, however, showed that Nisla Rakov were capable of making life very difficult for their opponents and remained in contention for the title right until the very end.
The first map of the final was Ancient. For most of the match, Nisla Rakov tried to keep pace with their opponents, but Quasar responded effectively at the most crucial moments of the game. Ultimately, the map ended with a score of 10-13. Despite the defeat, Nisła showed that it was capable of competing with its final opponent on a much more even footing than previous rivals. The result left the door open to turn the entire series around, especially as the gap between the teams was not significant.
The second map, Mirage, saw a very strong response from Nisla Rakov. The team won 13:8, levelling the series. It was definitely one of the team’s best performances of the entire tournament. After losing Ancient, the players managed to get back into their game and once again impose their own tempo on their opponents. As a result, the fate of the final was to be decided only on the third map. It was also significant that Nisla Rakov responded well under pressure, showing character after a poor start to the final.
The decisive Anubis map, however, belonged to Quasar. Nisla Rakov fought to stay in the match, but their opponents once again proved more effective in the crucial rounds. The 8-13 result marked the end of the final and secured second place for Nisla Rakov. Despite the defeat, however, it was a very solid performance by the team over the course of the entire tournament. The very fact of reaching the final and taking the series to a third map shows that Nisla Rakov can count the PeeKee Cup among their successful performances.
A successful tournament despite the defeat in the final
Although the grand final did not go Nisła Raków’s way, the team’s overall performance in the PeeKee Cup can be considered a great success. Second place in the tournament and a confident run to the final show that the team is capable of maintaining a high standard and competing effectively against other teams. Throughout the tournament, Nisła Raków displayed consistent form… Winning their earlier matches in convincing style and only facing an opponent in the final who proved to be marginally better.
It is particularly commendable that the team was able to bounce back after losing the first map of the final and level the series. Ultimately, the PeeKee Cup ends with a silver medal for Nisla Rakov, but also with another valuable experience and confirmation that the team is capable of competing for the top spots in such competitions.
