Gloris eSports was the sole representative of the partner group at the Galaxy Cup LAN finals, which were once again held in Gdańsk. Gloris eSports qualified for the LAN finals by progressing through the second qualifying round. Right from the first match, spectators were treated to a solid dose of excitement. The first match, the first overtime, and facing them was another of our partners — Lunacy Gaming. Lunacy had to concede defeat to Gloris eSports, losing 16–19 after overtime.
The second match was a “bit easier” for the players on our partner team. That said, it was by no means a walk in the park. A 13–10 victory over “DrunkStars” allowed Gloris eSports to progress to the third round of the second qualifying round. In this round, our partner faced the “BrasilStyle” team, which certainly did not display any Brazilian style. Unless, of course, the name refers to the Germany v Brazil match during the 2014 FIFA World Cup – in which case the name certainly fits. Gloris eSports dominated their opponents, winning 13–5.
Decisive matches
In the next round, they faced “4 pancerni i kot” in a closely contested match. Their opponents were just one round short of forcing extra time. Our partner won the match 13–11.
The match to decide who would progress was a Best of 3. Their opponent was “Czarna Wołga”. After the first map, Gloris proved that their opponents were all talk and no action, despite the fact that they were once again just one round short of forcing a tie-breaker on the Mirage map. Looking solely at the result of the second map, it might seem that the map was easier for our partners. The round difference was four, not two, and their opponents fell at least four rounds short of forcing overtime. A 13–9 victory on the de_inferno map.

LAN Finals
Let’s move on to the icing on the cake: the LAN finals. They took place from 8 to 10 May – last weekend – at the Kinguin Esports Lounge in Gdańsk (for a change…). Gloris eSports took on “Fast Layners” in the quarter-finals of the LAN finals for this tournament. As it turned out, this was their final match last weekend at the offline tournament organised under the banner of the Galactic Tournament. The first map in this clash was Nuke, which was picked by our opponents. Our team didn’t stand much of a chance, losing 7–0. Things didn’t go any better on the second map, which was our team’s pick. They lost 6–0 on Inferno.
