The new ESEA Main Division season is not going to plan for ViBe Gaming. The Polish team has had an exceptionally difficult start to the campaign. Out of six matches so far, they have won just one… and that was after being awarded a bye. The other matches ended in defeats, although in most cases ViBe managed to put up a fight against their opponents. However, the team is still waiting for its first, genuinely hard-fought victory in the league. Their opening match was already mentioned in one of our round-up articles about our partners in this division. Today, however, we’ll take another look at all of ViBe Gaming’s matches so far to see how their season has gone so far.
A difficult start to the season for ViBe Gaming
The first few weeks of ESEA Main were not the easiest for ViBe Gaming. The Poles began their campaign with a fratricidal clash against xdasdf on Mirage. As we’ve already mentioned, the start looked really promising… as the first half was very evenly matched and ended in a draw. Unfortunately, after the sides switched, the opponents took the initiative and maintained their lead until the end, winning 9-13.
In the next match, ViBe once again faced a tough challenge. On Ancient, they took on the Finnish side CSDIILIT, who set the pace from the very first rounds and quickly built a solid lead. After the break, they tried to get back into the game, but their opponents didn’t let them find their rhythm. Ultimately, the match ended with almost the same score as the previous one. This time, however, it was 8–13 to the opponents.
The fiercest battle came in the third round, when ViBe faced 3DMAX INUI on the Nuke map. It was a match in which a spark and determination were finally evident. ViBe Gaming stayed very close for a long time, going almost point for point. Unfortunately, the finish belonged to the French, who closed out the map with a score of 11:13. For ViBe, it was a defeat, but also a sign that things are starting to come together better and better.
Attempt at a comeback and a bye round
The fourth match saw them face British side 29AvgAge on Dust 2. ViBe tried to keep pace with their opponents and looked really solid at times, but after the break, their rivals took control of the match. With each successive round, the British side’s lead grew, until they finally ended the match with a score of 7:13.
The fifth round offered ViBe Gaming a breather. The team received a bye, which formally marked their first win of the season, though this time it wasn’t earned on the server.
After a short break, ViBe returned to action on the familiar Ancient map, where the Romanian side LOOKING FOR ORG awaited them. ViBe started well, trying to maintain balance and capitalise on their chances, but as the match progressed, they lacked effectiveness at key moments. Despite a few good spells, the match ended with a score of 8:13 in favour of their opponents.
Will ViBe Gaming finally turn things around?
After six rounds, ViBe Gaming’s record stands at one technical victory and five defeats. Although the numbers don’t look great, they don’t fully reflect the team’s potential or the moments when they were able to really stand up to their rivals. In many parts of the matches, you could see ideas, teamwork and ambition… The only things missing are consistency and effectiveness in key rounds. However, the 55th ESEA season is only just picking up pace, so ViBe still has plenty of opportunities to improve their record and show what they’re capable of. If the team maintains its motivation and translates those better moments into full maps, a first real victory seems only a matter of time.
