In a recent series of articles, we described the opponents our partners will face at the various levels of Arrma. One of these was Prime Bulls. They play their matches in the Arrma Masters division, which is the highest of all the Arrma leagues. The start of the season hasn’t been the easiest for them, as their current record shows.
Prime Bulls kick off their Arrmy season with a match against Young Stars
The clashes between these teams have been providing plenty of excitement for the past few weeks. Many people will remember the recent controversy that erupted after one such match, in which the Bulls, having been soundly beaten on the second map, decided to throw grenades at their own feet during one of the rounds. Now these two teams have met again, this time in the Arrmy Masters regular season.
The match began with Prime Bulls taking the first round. Despite this, a strong showing from the Young Stars players levelled the score, after which the Bulls struggled once the Young Stars had taken a 3–1 lead. However, they had no intention of letting up, and the score soon stood at 5–1. After numerous back-and-forth exchanges, round after round, the opposition maintained a 9–3 lead at the end of the first half.
In the second half, however, the Bulls came out firing, winning four rounds to bring the score to 7–9. Our other partner had no intention of letting up and won just one round, but this didn’t ultimately stop the Prime Bulls, and by the 20th round they had levelled the score at 10–10. After an exchange of rounds, the Young Stars had one chance to seal the match with a 13–11 victory, but they failed to do so and the match went into extra time.
After the first part of the first extra period, the Prime Bulls took a one-point lead, which gave them two match points. However, the Young Stars failed to capitalise on this, and the outcome of the match was to be decided in the second extra period. In that period, the team that had saved two match points after the first half already had three chances to seal the match. They squandered one, but made no mistake with the second, and the match ended 19–16 in favour of the Young Stars.
Prime Bulls’ second match, this time against ŻółwOdTyłu
The Prime Bulls’ second opponents were the ŻółwOdTyłu team. The Prime Bulls were strong favourites in this clash, but how did it ultimately end? The first two rounds went to ŻółwOdTyłu; it wasn’t until the fourth that the Bulls managed to respond. However, this didn’t stop the turtles from winning further rounds, and they took a 6–1 lead. After that, however, Prime Bulls went on a three-round run and almost levelled the score, though the turtles ultimately prevented that from happening in the first half of the match, which ended 8–4.
It seemed as though the second half would follow a similar pattern after the opponents won the pistol round, but nothing could have been further from the truth. The Prime Bulls won the force round, quickly levelling the score at 9–9. From that moment on, the opponents pulled themselves together and saw out the match, not conceding a single further round to the Bulls. After these two matches, Prime Bulls have a record of 0–2 and are not making their task of reaching the play-offs any easier.
