The first stage of Arrma’s thirteenth season is drawing to a close across all competition tiers. Today, we’re taking another look at the Rising division, where the battle for the top spots in the table is still in full swing and proving to be quite thrilling. At the moment, SLAKE sit in third place and are in very solid form. Although they have all but secured a place among the very top, they still have one match left to play before the group stage concludes. Will they manage to climb higher and fight for a better seeding in the knockout stage? Or perhaps the upcoming match will decide whether they can hold onto their place on the podium? We’re in for an exciting finish to the group stage!
A tense finale to Arrma’s group stage
Here’s a round-up of SLAKE’s most recent matches in the regular season. In previous articles, you’ve been able to read about the team’s earlier fixtures. Today, however, we’ll focus on the next four, which were crucial to their position in the table. In the following paragraphs, we’ll take a look at the key moments from these matches – both those that took place on the server and the off-field circumstances that played a part in the results.
SLAKE 1–0 Five Mana | walkover
The clash with Five Mana ended in a walkover in SLAKE’s favour. Although no actual match took place, the points earned were valuable in terms of the league table. Situations like this aren’t the most exciting for fans, but with such a tight schedule, every extra day’s break can prove invaluable.
SLAKE 0:1 Horizon Esports | walkover
This time, it was SLAKE who had to forfeit the match to Horizon Esports. I’m not entirely sure of the reasons. It’s possible that the schedule simply didn’t work out in their favour. Nevertheless, this is SLAKE’s only defeat in today’s fixtures, though it’s worth noting that the match didn’t take place on the server. For fans, this is always a bit of a let-down, but the team still holds a strong position in the table.
SLAKE 13:10 MENSZCZYSNI | Mirage
The only truly evenly matched game in this series saw SLAKE take on MENSZCZYSNI. The clash on Mirage turned out to be the most fiercely contested match of recent days and remained a close contest for a long time.
Both teams were neck and neck, with neither able to establish a clear lead. The fluctuating pace and balance of power meant that no round was a foregone conclusion. The match was characterised by high intensity and palpable tension, particularly in the closing stages. It was then that SLAKE demonstrated great maturity and composure, which allowed them to close out the map with a 13–10 victory. This victory could prove crucial in the battle for the top spots in the table.
SLAKE 13–5 Modern Players | Mirage
In their match against the league leaders, Modern Players, SLAKE put in a very strong performance, confidently controlling the flow of the game, once again on the Mirage map. The 13–5 scoreline speaks for itself and highlights just how effectively SLAKE’s players dealt with a strong opponent. Modern Players, who have held top spot in the table so far, struggled considerably to break down SLAKE and impose their own style of play. This victory not only confirms the team’s potential but also represents an important step towards maintaining their position at the very top of the table as the group stage draws to a close.
What else lies in store for SLAKE in the coming weeks of the Army League?
SLAKE have already secured their place in the play-offs, but they still have one final regular-season fixture to play: a match against Horizon Youngsters. This fixture is scheduled for 28 July at 9.30 pm. What’s more, it could still determine whether the team manages to improve its position in the table, fighting for a better spot on the podium, or whether it will be a battle to stay there.
The rivals are promising a fierce battle, and the final outcome could significantly affect the balance of power ahead of the play-offs. Will they manage to maintain their winning streak and consolidate their position among the very best, or might Horizon Youngsters spring a surprise? All in all, we’re in for an exciting conclusion to the regular season, which will reveal who holds the advantage for the rest of the season.
