The VPG Poland competitions ‘don’t’ start until November. Before the start of our partners’ domestic competitions, we can mainly follow them in European competitions, including those organised by Virtual Pro Gaming. Today, we’ll focus on one partner, YNG SKiLLZ, who have decided to drop down a division this season. They are currently competing in the VPG Championship B. We’ve been informed that the organisation has decided to “drop down a division”, opting not to play in the higher division.
It could have been higher…
One of the reasons for this decision is a lack of match experience. It seems that morale isn’t always boosted by poor performances, and our partners might have faced such setbacks had they remained in the higher division. This could have a negative impact on the atmosphere within the club, all the more so if the team feels it is not ready to play in a higher division.
Five matches played
We believe that YNG SKiLLZ is the only team from Poland competing at this level of the competition. Admittedly, we do have a few other teams competing in VPG Europe, but at different levels. Interestingly, Los Galacticos are also playing in the league. Unfortunately, they’re not quite the Los Galacticos you might be hoping for, although in their opening match against YNG SKiLLZ they did indeed put in a performance worthy of Real Madrid.
A 0–3 defeat, whilst our partner were the away side in that match. A round later, they faced UNWANTED FC, this time on home turf. The result was different this time, as our partner won 2–0, securing their first victory of the season in official competition in just their second match.
- 0–3 vs. Los Galacticos, W.
- 2–0 vs. UNWANTED FC, H.
The machine has started rolling…
YNG SKiLLZ showed themselves in an increasingly positive light from match to match, as evidenced by the results. In the third round, they faced the German side EastSideGermany. As with the match against UNWANTED FC, this one was also played at their home ground. YNG won the match 4–0. In the next round, they faced Vortex E-sport, this time away from home. However, even that did not prevent our partner from taking all three points. The match was by no means an easy one, though, as YNG won by ‘just’ a single goal, 3–2.
- 4–0 vs. EastSideGermany, D.
- 3–2 vs. Vortex E-sport, A.
The most recent match our partner played took place three days ago, on 28 October at 8.15 pm. Their opponents were “Wolf Pack”. The match was played at our partner’s home ground, which they naturally made the most of. Probably YNG’s best match to date. After all, a 7–1 victory speaks for itself.
- 7–1 vs. Wolf Pack, D.
League table
After five rounds, YNG are in 8th place. Four wins and one defeat. This position seems rather low, given the scale of our partner’s results. However, the final position will not be decided solely by goal difference, but by the number of points. Nevertheless, it’s only the start of the season, so it’s hard to draw any conclusions other than that YNG SKiLLZ probably made the right decision to drop down a division.
Today’s matches
The next matches are today: at 21:30 they’ll face BARRIO FCP away. Then they’ll take on Resurge X, also away. All we can do is wish them the best of luck.
