The YNG SKiLLZ team continues its campaign in the ESEA Open 10 league. After eight matches, the team has a record of 2 wins and 6 defeats, which puts them a long way off their dream of qualifying for the play-offs. In our previous article (a link to the earlier piece can be found here), we analysed the first four matches, which ended with a record of 1–3. Now it’s time to take a look at the next four matches, which, unfortunately, did not go the Polish squad’s way.
A tough evening on Ancient
On 20 October 2025 at 8.00 pm, the Polish team faced the Danish side FoodiEZ. The match was played on the de_ancient map, which has long been regarded as one of the most challenging in the current CS2 map pool. Unfortunately, the Poles couldn’t find a way past their well-prepared opponents. They were already trailing 3–9 at half-time, and after the sides switched sides, they failed to get back into the match. The final score of 6–13 painfully exacerbated their problems and left the team’s record at 1–4.
This match was one of the team’s weakest performances of the entire season. The team struggled with communication, lacked effectiveness in attack, and the Danes mercilessly capitalised on every slip-up. After the match, team morale took a hit, but the players knew that their next chance to bounce back was just two days away.
Complete dominance after the break
On 22 October at 8.30 pm, YNG SKiLLZ faced off against the Swedish team Horizon. This time, the match was played on de_mirage, one of the Polish team’s favourite maps. However, the start of the match did not bode well. By half-time, they were trailing 5–7, and their defensive play looked chaotic. After the break, however, everything changed.
In the second half, YNG SKiLLZ were completely dominant, winning 8–0, and the match ended with a final score of 13–7. It was a display of teamwork, excellent communication and precise execution of tactical plans. The team captain and the sniper stood out in particular, shouldering the burden of the game at crucial moments.
This victory not only improved their record to 2–4 but also restored faith in the team. Fans and observers began to wonder whether this match would prove to be the turning point of the season.
Defeat after extra time
The next match, played on 27 October 2025 at 21:00, was packed with excitement. The opponents were the Ukrainian team Blaze Clan -Red-. The match was once again played on de_mirage, and the action provided spectators with a real thriller.
The first half ended with the Ukrainians leading 7–5, but YNG SKiLLZ showed their character, winning the second half 7–5 and forcing extra time. Unfortunately, they lost their cool in the extra rounds and ultimately lost 13–16.
Despite the defeat, this match showed that the team can fight until the very end. The result could have gone either way, but minor communication errors and a lack of clinical finishing in the closing stages proved decisive. After this match, their record stood at 2–5, and their chances of reaching the play-offs began to slip away.
Another blow – defeat against Legion
YNG SKiLLZ played their final match of October on 29 October at 19:30 against another Ukrainian team – Legion. The match was once again played on de_ancient, a map that has not brought the Poles much luck this season.
The first half ended 5–7, and despite attempts to turn the match around, YNG SKiLLZ were unable to force a draw. The final score of 10–13 further deepened the team’s slump. It was clear that the players were fighting hard, but they lacked the energy and effectiveness they had shown in previous matches. As a result, their record after eight rounds stands at 2–6, placing the team in the lower half of the ESEA Open 10 table.
What’s next for YNG SKiLLZ?
Although things aren’t looking too good, the season is still underway, and the team has a few matches left that could turn their fortunes around. YNG SKiLLZ’s next match is on 3 November at 8.30 pm, when they’ll face Roaring Bears. This will be the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways and boost the team’s morale.
The key will be to stay focused and improve their performance on maps such as de_ancient, which have caused them the most problems so far. The team has the potential to fight for a better record and surprise their rivals in the final stages of the season.
Match Report
YNG SKiLLZ’s last four matches have been a mix of excitement, hope and disappointment. Following a brilliant victory over the Swedish side Horizon, the team failed to build on that success and suffered three consecutive defeats. A 2–6 record is a difficult situation, but not a hopeless one.
In the world of Counter-Strike 2, anything can still change. All it takes is a few good matches to turn the season around. YNG SKiLLZ fans still believe the team will show its true character and prove it can compete at the very highest level. Everything will be decided in the coming weeks – and as early as 3 November, we’ll find out whether the Poles can break their losing streak and get back to winning ways.
