Esports is picking up pace once again, and the organisers of the ALS league are entering a new phase of their activities. Following two successful seasons and an additional two-day tournament, they’re back with the third season of the competition, which is set to kick off later this month. Registration is already open, so don’t put it off – sign up your team before places run out!
To join the tournament, visit the official ALS website and fill in the form. The order in which entries are received plays a key role here, as the organisers allocate places in the qualifiers on a first-come, first-served basis.
What does the tournament look like?
The organisers are expecting 16 teams to take part, but if at least 24 teams sign up, they will organise additional qualifiers. The whole event will take place on the Faceit platform, which ensures stable competitive conditions and professional technical support.
The group stage will use the Swiss system, which allows teams to face opponents with the same win-loss record. The top teams – the top 8 from the main phase of the tournament – will progress to the play-offs, which will be played in a knockout format. Each match in this stage will be played in a best-of-three (BO3) format, whilst the grand final will be decided in a best-of-five (BO5) format, guaranteeing a long and thrilling battle for the title. A BO5 format is now the norm for this tournament, ensuring an extra thrill for spectators.
What are the prizes?
The winning team will receive 400 zł, but the organisers have announced that the prize pool may increase. In previous editions, they awarded additional prizes for the MVP, EVP and the teams finishing in 2nd and 3rd place, so you can expect some surprises this time around too. Up-to-date information will be posted on ASL’s social media channels.
Why is it worth taking part?
Each team can field five starting players and as many as four substitutes. Such a large squad allows you to devise flexible strategies and adapt them to every stage of the tournament. This is rare in events of this kind, which is why this season stands out from other competitions.
