Armitra had been without a squad for a long time and, as a result, had to significantly delay the start of Season 13 of the Army Masters. They didn’t play their first match until two days ago against Lombard, and yesterday they faced The Vynz. How did they get on? Here’s the answer…
Armitra’s opening match – vs Lombard
As mentioned above, the first match was played against Lombard. This is the team currently topping the Arrmy Masters table and are the favourites to win the entire competition. This clash took place on Mirage. Armitra started on the attacking side and, after a short while, took a 3–0 lead following a failed force by their opponents. They got into a good run, extending their lead to 5–0 and ending the half on a high note. Of course, these were only the opening rounds and, in the worst-case scenario, our partner would have finished with a score of 5–7. They certainly didn’t want it to come to that. The opposing team managed to win the first two rounds, but Armitra responded fairly quickly, adding a sixth point to their tally. The rest of the rounds, however, saw Lombard dominate, allowing them to draw level by the end of the first half.
In the second half, Lombard’s run continued, and it was only when the score stood at 8–6 that our partner secured their first point on defence, thereby claiming a contact point. However, we didn’t see a draw, and as a result, Armitra’s opponents picked up the pace, extending their lead to 12–7. It was then that the Armitra Esports players showed their mettle and won a single round; however, Lombard went on to close out the match with a 13–8 victory. Consequently, our partner began the season with a defeat.

Fancy a quick comeback?
On just the second day, Armitra had the chance to bounce back from their defeat, as they were set to face The Vynz. These two teams have faced each other numerous times, but recently it has been The Vynz (formerly Mollitiem). This time, the teams clashed in the Armitra Masters, with the Ancient map serving as the battlefield. Our partner started on the defending side, but found themselves trailing 0–2 right from the start of the first half. They managed to do so quickly and even took a 7:2 lead. This ensured they would finish the first half of the match in the lead, though that lead could have been even greater. At that point, Vynz picked up a round, and it looked as though Armitra’s lead would be reduced to just 7–5, but our partner managed to secure the penultimate round and finished with a score of 8–4.
The pistol round in the second half was crucial, because if The Vynz had won it, we might have seen a comeback, and if Armitra had won it, they could have taken an unassailable lead. This crucial round went to our opponents, signalling their comeback. However, thanks to a strong force-play in which we managed to plant the bomb, our partner won the round and took a 9–6 lead. Still, our rivals refused to give up. They managed to win three rounds in a row, which brought them back into contention. At this point, however, Armitra Esports realised the situation was becoming precarious and responded effectively, winning every round from then on to finish the match 13–8. They thus managed to level the series at 1–1 after the first two matches.
