The end of the regular season of ESEA Season 53 is fast approaching. Young Stars teams are competing at two different levels: Talents are playing in the Main division, whilst the organisation’s academy is competing in Open10.
From a winning streak to a dip in form – Young Stars Talents in ESEA Main
Young Stars Talents started the season with a strong winning streak, defeating, among others, the all-female Imperial squad. Unfortunately, the end of the regular season brought several disappointing defeats. Despite this, their 6–4 record still gives them a realistic chance of advancing to the playoffs.
- Infernal Void 13:2 Young Stars Talents, Mirage
The match got off to a very poor start for Young Stars Talents; the first half ended with their opponents holding a significant lead, which made a comeback highly unlikely. Although the team tried to find a way back in the second half, Infernal Void controlled the match from start to finish.
Mirage, one of the standard maps in the pool, did not prove to be an ally for Talents this time. A lack of effective attacking solutions and defensive problems led to a swift and one-sided conclusion to the match. For the team, it was a cold shower following their earlier, better performances.
- Young Stars Talents 4:13 G2 Ares, Dust 2
Young Stars Talents started the match against G2 Ares with an even contest, but after the break they were unable to maintain the pace. The team ended the first half with a score of 4:8, and after the sides switched, G2 Ares took control, winning round after round.
Despite an initial chance to turn the match around, Talents failed to mount any response to their opponents’ aggressive play, who ended the match with a 4:13 scoreline.
- DESPERADOS CS2 7:13 Young Stars Talents, Train
The match against Desperados CS2 on Train was one of the few bright spots for Young Stars Talents in the closing stages of the regular season. The team showed solid form from the very start, taking the first half with a score of 3:9.
After the map switch, Talents continued to control the pace of the game. Desperados CS2 were unable to find an answer to YS’s aggressive approach, and the latter comfortably closed out the match with a 7:13 scoreline. This victory was well-deserved and demonstrated that Talents are capable of performing at a high level, even during the more challenging moments of the season.
- Shadows 13:8 Young Stars Talents, Nuke
The final match against Shadows on Nuke ended in defeat for YS Talents, despite the first half being extremely even and ending 6-6. Talents performed well in the first half, keeping the score level and not allowing their opponents to gain a significant lead.
However, after the break, Shadows took the initiative, imposing their own pace of play and capitalising effectively on Talents’ mistakes. Despite several chances to turn the match around, the Talents players were unable to respond to their opponents’ aggressive play, and Shadows eventually closed out the match with a 13-8 victory.
A strong record, a chance of the playoffs within reach – Young Stars Academy
Young Stars Academy is performing brilliantly in the Open10 division this season. With an impressive 7–3 record, the team has a real chance of qualifying for the playoffs.
- Young Stars Academy 10:13 LLH-Academy, Ancient
The match between Young Stars Academy and LLH-Academy on the Ancient map began as an evenly matched contest, with both teams trading rounds. After the first half, Young Stars were trailing 5–7, but still had a chance to turn the match around. Despite a decent performance in the early stages, the team struggled to contain their opponents after the break.
LLH-Academy stepped up the pace significantly after the break, giving YS Academy no chance of getting back into the game. The team took the initiative, winning round after round to finish the match 10–13. The defeat, despite a closely contested first half, showed that Young Stars Academy must improve their play at crucial moments to be able to compete with stronger opponents.
- Young Stars Academy 13:4 CLUB 88, Mirage
On Mirage, the YS Academy set the pace from the start. After a superb first half, ending with a score of 10:2, the team had a comfortable lead. After the break, the team maintained full control of the match, giving their opponents no chance of a comeback. CLUB 88 were unable to break through the Young Stars’ defence, who comfortably sealed the match with a 13:4 scoreline. This decisive victory demonstrates just how strong the Academy’s form is at this stage of the season.
- Young Stars Academy 13:2 KLGeSports, Ancient
The match against KLGeSports was a true demonstration of strength from YS. From the very first half, the team dominated their rivals, leading 10:2. Their organised defence and effective attacks left their opponents with no chance of breaking through. KLGeSports, despite their efforts, were unable to find an answer to Young Stars’ aggressive style of play.
After the break, the Academy continued their dominance, not allowing their rivals any chance to improve. KLGeSports were unable to make up the deficit, and Young Stars Academy confidently ended the match with a 13:2 victory.
- Clarity 5:13 Young Stars Academy, Mirage
The match on Mirage between Young Stars Academy and Clarity began as an evenly matched contest, but it was YS Academy who took the lead in the first half, ending it with a score of 5:7. After the break, YS maintained control of the match, not allowing Clarity to mount an effective comeback. Thanks to well-organised play and precise execution, the Academy comfortably closed out the match with a 5:13 scoreline. This victory was well-deserved and confirmed that the team is ready for the challenges of the next stages of the season.
Both Young Stars Talents and Young Stars Academy are in solid form in their respective divisions. Talents, despite some recent difficult matches, still have a chance of qualifying for the play-offs, and their 6–4 record gives them hope of improving and fighting for the top spots. Meanwhile, Young Stars Academy, with a 7–3 record in the Open10 division, are maintaining excellent form, and their dominance in many matches shows that they are ready for the challenges ahead. However, both squads must remember to stay focused at crucial moments to secure their place in the knockout stages. If the teams maintain their current form and improve their play in the decisive matches, they have a real chance of further development and success in the upcoming rounds.
