The Galaxy Cup is currently one of the biggest, if not the biggest, underground tournaments. Reaching the play-offs is a testament to the team’s high standard. Constrict Gaming has just joined this group and will soon find out who their opponent is in the round of 16.
A tough start for Group D
Our partner found themselves in a group with several very strong teams. One of them was, for example, Pandemonium, the runners-up from the last edition of this tournament. Constrict’s first match was against The Vynz, a team made up of players from the previous Superion Gaming line-up. They didn’t put up much of a fight, and our partner made it through to the group semi-finals. There, Pandemonium awaited them. A very strong and demanding opponent, who, following some changes, is no longer performing as well.

The Vynz got off to a flying start. Winning the pistol round and the first full round gave them the chance to pull ahead to 4-0. Unfortunately, a lost anti-force round handed the first round to their opponents, which they used to build momentum and get back into the match. Fortunately, Constrict kept their finger on the pulse throughout and didn’t let their opponents make a comeback, extending their lead to 5-1. Pandemonium made another attempt to fight back, this time winning two rounds. However, these were just two rounds that Constrict capitalised on, taking the score to 8-4 by the end of the first half.
The pistol round was once again won by our favourites, but they didn’t get to enjoy it for long, as the opponents immediately broke it. As a result, the opponents quickly reached the point of contact and eventually levelled the match at 9:9. It didn’t end there, however, as the Red Devils took an 11:9 lead. Our partner wasn’t going to give up easily, and the next two rounds went their way. We saw the score level at 11:11, and the next round would decide the winner of the match and which team would make it to the playoffs. Fortunately for Constrict fans, the last two rounds went their way, meaning they secured their place in the Galaxy Cup: Reborn Edition 3 playoffs. Although qualification was assured, there was still the group final to play, in which our partner were set to face menszczysnami.

Galaxy Cup quarter-final match
This time, things didn’t start so well. The pistol round and the round that followed went to our opponents. However, the next two rounds saw us quickly level the score at 2:2. Constrict even managed to take a 4-2 lead. This time, our opponents responded, and we saw another draw, this time 4-4. The next two rounds were a 1-for-1 exchange. The last two rounds went to Menszczysn, and they ended the first half with a 7-5 lead.
Winning the pistol round gave them a chance to draw level, but the opponents managed to break the deadlock and took a 10-6 lead as a result. The Snakes tried to fight back and were two rounds away from a draw, but the other side quickly brought them back down to earth, winning the match 13-8.
