Unfortunately, one of these was the defeat of Young Stars Talents, who are bowing out of the tournament right at the start of the knockout stage. The team, which had recently impressed with their form in the group stage, failed to maintain their momentum at the most crucial moment. Their Galaxy Cup adventure is coming to an end sooner than both the fans and the players themselves had expected.

The Galaxy Cup play-offs have barely begun, and we’ve already seen the first major upset. Young Stars Talents, a team that caught the eye during the group stage with their bold and effective play, are bowing out of the tournament in the very first round. Their nemesis turned out to be TNC Esports, who won 1:2 after a three-map clash, putting an end to Young Stars’ hopes of progressing further.
The start of the match gave YS fans cause for optimism. The first map – Dust 2 – got off to a rather tough start for them. Losing the first half 4–8 on the CT side did not bode well for a comeback, but switching sides breathed new life into the team. Effective attacks, good communication and flashes of individual brilliance allowed Young Stars to make up the deficit and tip the balance of victory in their favour. The final score of 13–10 showed that this team can perform under pressure and turn a match around.
On the second map, Mirage, the match was even more evenly contested. TNC ended the first half leading 5–7, but the Young Stars were still hot on their heels. After the break, however, it was TNC who began to play with greater confidence, capitalising on their opponents’ mistakes and effectively closing out round after round. Young Stars tried to make up the deficit, but they were no longer as precise as before. Ultimately, TNC won 9–13, forcing a decider.
Train proved to be the final nail in the coffin for Young Stars Talents. TNC dictated the pace from the outset and dominated every aspect of the match. The first half ended 2–10 in TNC’s favour, with Young Stars looking completely lost. The second half was short-lived – TNC needed just three rounds to seal a 2:13 victory and thus advance to the next stage of the Galaxy Cup.
For Young Stars Talents, this marks a painful end to their campaign, particularly after such a promising start. Nevertheless, they remain a team with potential – they showed flashes of truly solid play and gained valuable experience that will certainly pay dividends in the future. Although Young Stars are now out of the running, the Galaxy Cup is only just getting into full swing.
