When NEXIUM POLteam began their campaign in the Army Rising regular season, it was hard to predict just how high they would set the bar for their rivals. Today, however, all the cards are on the table. The team has completed all their matches and can look at the table with great satisfaction. Nine wins from ten matches is a result that speaks for itself and confirms that POLteam were among the very best in the competition. It was precisely this excellent 9–1 record that secured the team 3rd place in the regular season standings. Indeed, everything suggests that this position will remain unchanged until the end of the season. So, the time has come for a review… Today, we’ll take a look at how the matches have gone so far. But we’ll also look to the future, where the knockout stage is already looming on the horizon, along with POLteam’s potential first opponent.
Stability and control… That’s how the regular season went for NEXIUM POLteam
Throughout the group stage, NEXIUM POLteam demonstrated, above all, consistency, which often proves crucial in this type of competition. The team scored points in almost every round, with most matches ending in victories secured in a relatively confident manner. Right at the start of the regular season, POLteam made their presence felt… Confidently defeating Armitra 13-7 on Mirage and ZEN Esports 13-11 on Ancient. These were matches that showed the team could hold their own on maps requiring pace control as well as those where individual decisions in the closing stages of rounds are crucial.
The following weeks only served to confirm the team’s good form. Victories of 13-10 against ch1m1depo and 16-13 against Paraolimpiada on Train proved that POLteam can keep their cool even in more evenly matched encounters. In the meantime, the team also secured some very convincing wins. Such as a 13-6 victory over Made In Poland, a 13-7 win against Tuga Clan, and a resounding 13-4 victory over TEB Esport Pro. Thus clearly signalling that the team is capable of dictating the terms of the game.
However, POLteam’s form on the Ancient map deserves special mention, as it has repeatedly proved to be a particularly comfortable one for them. It was there that the team secured some of their most one-sided victories. Of course, this included that impressive 13-2 win against ATP. The only clear blemish on an almost perfect record remains the 3-13 defeat to Horizon Esports. Ultimately, NEXIUM POLteam closed out the group stage with a 16-13 victory over energol on Mirage, thereby sealing an excellent 9-1 record. This result clearly shows that the team not only won, but did so in a consistent and well-thought-out manner. It is, in fact, the best possible preview ahead of the upcoming knockout stage.
What next? POLteam awaits its knockout stage opponent
NEXIUM POLteam’s performance at the end of the regular season allows them to look to the future with great confidence. A 9–1 record and their current third place in the table put the team in a very favourable position ahead of the next stage of the tournament. What’s more, everything suggests that this position will not change. Conversely, the league table will remain similar to the current one once all the remaining teams have played their matches. Therefore, if the knockout stage pairings are drawn according to the classic format, in which the highest-ranked teams face those from the lower reaches of the table, Timeless appears to be POLteam’s most likely opponent. However, this scenario depends on the final results of the other teams, who still have their matches in this phase to play.
Regardless of who ultimately stands in POLteam’s way, one thing should be certain… The team will enter the knockout stage as one of the favourites. Thanks to their consistent form and effectiveness across many maps. However, what matters most is their ability to win both one-sided and closely contested matches, which makes the expectations placed on the team entirely justified. The group stage sent a strong signal to their rivals, and now all that remains is to confirm this form in the tournament’s most important matches.
