After the first few weeks of the 55th ESEA Entry season, Excurity Gaming’s situation remains unclear. In our previous article covering all the partner teams in the Entry division, we mentioned their first two matches, which ended in walkovers. Now, following a further three matches, it’s safe to say that the season hasn’t gone to the team’s liking. Is this the end of their participation in the competition? Or perhaps just a delayed start?
A difficult start to the season?
Excurity Gaming [1:0] :fi: Majorpls
Excurity Gaming secured their first points of the 55th ESEA Entry season without even logging onto the server. Their rivals from 🇫🇮 Majorpls were unable to field a full squad. The team had only three players, which automatically meant a walkover in Excurity’s favour. The match, scheduled for Monday 13 October, was therefore over in a flash, and the team were able to notch up their first win in the table. For fans and observers of the competition, this was a pleasant surprise, although, of course, a point earned in this way does not give the team any actual playing time on the server or competitive experience.
Excurity Gaming [0:1] :de: XGEAR
Unfortunately, the following days brought less positive news. On Wednesday, 15 October, Excurity failed to appear on the server for their match against 🇩🇪 XGEAR, resulting in another walkover. What’s more, this fixture was supposed to be an opportunity to test the squad against a strong opponent, and their absence puts the team in a difficult position in the table. Observers have begun to wonder whether Excurity’s attendance issues in the competition are organisational in nature, or whether they relate to other factors preventing the team from playing regularly.
Excurity Gaming [0:1] :ua: Team Elusive
The last of the scheduled matches was due to take place on Monday, 20 October, against 🇺🇦 Team Elusive. However, the match did not go ahead, and according to available information, Excurity has most likely already ended its participation in the season. Furthermore, everything suggests that the reason was organisational problems or a failure to pay the league fee, which prevented the team from continuing to participate in the competition.
What next for the team?
Although Excurity Gaming’s journey in the 55th season of ESEA Entry has most likely come to an end, the question remains as to whether the team will return even stronger in future seasons. The definitive end to their participation in the competition does not necessarily mean the end of the story. Fans and observers will certainly be keeping an eye out to see if we’ll see them again in future seasons.
