When we announced Vandals Clan as our new partner, we had the chance to watch their first steps in Season 13 of the Arrmy Open. Their debut may not have been spectacular, but it certainly demonstrated their potential and fighting spirit, which is extremely valuable at this level of competition. The team has now completed half of the regular season, with a few more matches still to come that could determine their fate.
Despite being in the lowest division, the competition is extremely fierce, and only a fraction of the entrants will secure a place amongst the top 128 teams. However, the Vandals still have a chance to fight for promotion, provided they maintain – or even improve – their form. Every round, every tactical decision and every match now counts double. This is the moment when the team must demonstrate both character and progress.
How is Vandals Clan faring at the halfway point of the Arrmy Open season?
Vandals Clan 11:13 NPK Esport | Dust 2
The match against NPK Esport turned out to be the Vandals’ most evenly matched clash in the Arrmy Open so far. The contest on the now legendary Dust 2 looked set to be a fierce battle from the very start, and indeed, both teams were practically neck and neck, trading rounds. The 11:13 scoreline perfectly captures the tension that characterised this clash; the margin was minimal, and a few key rounds could have turned the match in Vandals Clan’s favour. Despite the eventual defeat, the team showed character, fighting right to the very end and proving that they are capable of holding their own against a strong opponent. This match will certainly provide the team with valuable material for analysis and serve as motivation for further progress.
Vandals Clan 7:13 Gloris eSports AC | Anubis
Vandals Clan’s next match of the season was a special one, as they faced the Gloris eSports academy, another team among our partners. The clash took place on Anubis, a map requiring both good communication and confident execution of tactics. Gloris displayed consistent form from the outset and were able to capitalise effectively on their opportunities. Although the Vandals were not without a chance and tried to get back into the game at various points, it was ultimately Gloris eSports AC who seized the initiative and secured a comfortable 7–13 victory. For the Vandals, this was a valuable test – not only in sporting terms but also mentally – highlighting areas they need to work on in future matches.
Vandals Clan 8–13 The Baiters | Anubis
Vandals Clan’s fifth match of the season was another clash on Anubis, where they faced The Baiters. This was a crucial test for the team to see whether they had learnt from their previous defeat on Gloris eSports AC and improved their play on this demanding, tactical map. Although the Vandals consistently tried to score points and put up a fight on several occasions, The Baiters proved more effective and made better use of key moments. The 8–13 scoreline suggests that the match was a tough one, and that the opponents were able to dominate the rounds that decided the final outcome. For the Vandals, this was another valuable experience that will certainly help them in their preparations for upcoming matches and in improving their form.
Summing up Vandals Clan’s performances so far this season in the Arrmy Open, it can be said that the team is going through a phase full of challenges and intensive learning. Although the results do not always go their way, the team shows great commitment and determination in every match. Nevertheless, competition at this level demands constant development, both in terms of team tactics and individual skills.
The Vandals still have several crucial matches ahead of them, which could determine their position in the table and a possible progression to the next stage. We can only hope that the experiences from the first half of the season will pay off in the form of better play, greater self-confidence and more effective capitalisation on key moments. In their very next match, the Vandals will face the Styloweczka side, which is sure to be another tough test for the team, not only in terms of skill but also character. Regardless of the final result, the path taken has been a valuable lesson and a solid foundation for future success. It is now, in the second half of the season, that the time has come to show the results of the work done and to turn the tide of this campaign.
