The second round of qualifiers for the Galaxy Cup has come to an end, and more teams have secured their places in the LAN finals in Gdańsk. Among them is Gloris eSports, who had to prove their worth right from the start… without any breaks in the form of a bye. The team made their way through the entire bracket in convincing fashion, though it wasn’t without its difficult moments. Despite a challenging start, the team quickly found their rhythm and, match by match, demonstrated increasing control over the game. Today, we take a look at their journey through the qualifiers, which culminated in securing the coveted slot for the LAN finals in Gdańsk.
Gloris eSports’ journey through the first qualifying rounds
Gloris eSports’ first match in the second round of qualifiers turned out to be the most challenging start imaginable. The clash with Lunacy only ended after extra time with a score of 19:16, which clearly shows just how evenly matched the contest was. Both teams were of a similar standard, and the outcome remained in the balance for a long time. Ultimately, it was Gloris who kept their cool in the crucial moments, allowing them to seal the match in their favour. Although it was a difficult start, the victory could have a positive impact on the team’s morale ahead of their next matches.
The second match saw Gloris eSports exert slightly more control, though their opponents continued to put up a fight. The match against DrunkStars ended 13–10, which again highlights how evenly matched the teams were. This time, however, there was no need for extra time, and Gloris managed to hold onto their lead within the regular time. It was an important victory that showed the team can learn from their mistakes and stabilise their play. Two wins in a row allowed them to get back on track and gain confidence.
The third clash was by far the most one-sided display from Gloris eSports. The match against BrasilStyle ended 13–5, clearly demonstrating one side’s superiority. It was a match in which Gloris dictated the pace and did not allow their opponents to get into their stride. Such a convincing victory may have signalled to subsequent rivals that the team is in increasingly good form. It was at this stage of the qualifiers that one could get the impression that Gloris was reaching its peak.
Decisive clashes for promotion
The next match, this time against 4 Pancernych i Kot, once again presented more challenging conditions for Gloris eSports. The match ended 13–11, which clearly shows just how evenly matched the contest was. Both teams remained neck and neck for a long time, and the outcome remained in the balance almost until the very end. Gloris had to show great concentration and patience to keep the match from slipping away. It was one of those matches where the details mattered immensely. Ultimately, however, it was Gloris who kept their cool, securing their place in the decisive promotion match.
The first map of the “final” clash against Black Volga was played on Mirage and ended with a 13-11 victory for Gloris eSports. It was another closely contested match that for a long time failed to produce a clear winner. Both sides were able to respond to each other’s rounds, leading to a tense finish. Gloris, however, proved once again that they can perform under pressure and capitalise on key moments. Victory on the first map brought them closer to the coveted promotion and gave them a solid lead ahead of the next clash in the series.
The second map, Inferno, was somewhat more controlled by Gloris eSports and ended with a score of 13:9. Although their opponents were still able to put up a fight, Gloris maintained their advantage and did not allow the initiative to slip away. It was a match in which the team looked more confident and stable than in their previous, closely contested encounters. This allowed them to close out the series more comfortably and seal a 2-0 victory. As a result, Gloris eSports secured their place in the Galaxy Cup LAN finals in Gdańsk.
Confident qualification and improving form
Gloris eSports demonstrated the full range of their capabilities in the second round of qualifiers… From tough, evenly matched encounters to decisive victories. Most importantly, however, the team managed to maintain their effectiveness at crucial moments and did not let us down when the stakes were highest. Qualification for the Galaxy Cup LAN finals in Gdańsk is a fully deserved result of their performance. If the team maintains its current form, it could prove to be one of the most interesting participants in the finals and realistically compete for the top spots.
