It’s been a month since the end of the 51st ESEA season, and we’re already introducing the teams set to take part in the 52nd ESEA Open10 season. Among them are: Young Stars Academy, Superion Gaming, Firewolf Clan and HomieZ.
It is also worth mentioning how the current promotion system works in ESEA Open10. Teams finishing in places 1 to 48 after the regular season play the playoffs in Pot A, where they are already guaranteed promotion to Intermediate; however, the winner advances to ESEA Advanced, and places 2 to 8 to ESEA Main. Teams ranked 49th to 432nd go into Pot B of the playoffs, from which only 64 teams advance to ESEA Intermediate.
Starting with Young Stars Academy. This is a newly formed second squad in the CS2 division from the Young Stars organisation. They did not take part in any major underground tournaments during the pre-season, so how they will fare in the top CS2 league remains to be seen.

The next partner to take part in this season’s ESEA will be Superion Gaming. They have already completed one ESEA Open season, but despite a 12-2 record and reaching the playoffs, they failed to advance to the next level of competition. They are currently competing in the two biggest underground tournaments, WinnersGG and the Galaxy Cup, although they were knocked out in the round of 16 in the former.

Another team from our partner network taking part in the upcoming ESEA Open10 season is Firewolf Clan. For them, too, this marks yet another season in this competition. In the previous season, after finishing with a 6-8 record and ending up in Group B, they failed to secure promotion to ESEA Intermediate. The Wolves also did not take part in any underground tournaments, so this will be their first real test.
