Every new partner we welcome into our ranks brings a new story to tell in our articles. Today, the Carpathian Roja team joins this prestigious group. This is an organisation that, after a few months’ absence, is back in action and has already managed to rack up a few achievements; amongst other things, they made it to the play-offs in last season’s Arrmy Open, where they were knocked out in their first match after a hard-fought battle. Despite this, they are certainly not giving up and will undoubtedly be fighting in the upcoming Season 14 to repeat their success or even go further.
Following their return to competition and a name change from V0rtex to their current name – Carpathian Roja – they managed to win the Eagle E-Sports | Classic Series | 8 tournament, which, as the organisation’s CEO puts it – “Although it wasn’t a top-tier tournament, the victory helped boost the team’s morale and confirmed that Carpathian Roja is heading in the right direction.” At present, Roja has one main squad. The first thing that catches your eye when looking at the team is, of course, its name, and this one is rather interesting. The founder of the organisation also revealed to us how such an intriguing name came about. “The name Carpathian Roja has its roots in the team’s initial plans. Originally, the line-up was to include a player from Spain, which inspired the use of the Spanish word ‘Roja’. The ‘Carpathian’ part, in turn, symbolises the team’s Polish origins and refers to the Carpathian Mountains. Although the Spanish player didn’t join in the end, the name remained as part of the team’s identity.”
Looking at the CEO’s plans and the direction this project is taking, I can already see that this is sure to be an interesting collaboration – and, hopefully, a fruitful one. Let’s hope that in the very near future we’ll be able to report on their first successes, as these may well come in tournaments currently underway, such as Underground Rivals and the Wojol Cup. The objectives set by the owner of our new partner for these tournaments are to win the Wojol Cup and to perform as well as possible in the 14th season of the Arrmy Open.
