As you’ll no doubt recall from our previous round-up, Victoria Nostra finished that stage of the ESEA Entry tournament with a 4–2 record, clearly gaining momentum. Some time has passed since then, however, and the ViNo squad has clearly hit its stride. The last few weeks have brought them a series of thrilling matches. There was certainly no shortage of both calm and truly nerve-wracking moments. So let’s see how they fared this time.
Four matches, four wins – ViNo’s dominance in ESEA Entry
Victoria Nostra [13:7] Night Penguins 🇫🇷 | Dust 2
Victoria Nostra kicked off today’s series with a clash against Night Penguins, which looked set to be a very evenly matched contest right from the opening rounds. Both teams played cautiously and neither could pull away on the scoreboard. As a result, the first half ended in a 6-6 draw. After the sides switched, however, ViNo began to impose their style of play with increasing confidence. Map control, better use of opportunities and confident rounds allowed them to seize the initiative. The match ended 13-7, and Victoria secured their first victory in the series we’ve been discussing today.
Victoria Nostra [16:14] Tuga Clan
| Ancient
The clash with the second Polish team, Tuga Clan, proved to be by far the most fiercely contested match in this series. Victoria Nostra started the match strongly, finishing the first half with a narrow 7:5 lead, but after the break, their rivals managed to respond in kind. The game, which was practically point for point, led to a 12:12 draw, meaning overtime. This too provided plenty of excitement, as neither team was willing to let up. Ultimately, however, it was ViNo who kept their cool in the crucial rounds, closing out the map with a 16:14 score and adding another valuable victory to their tally.
Victoria Nostra [1:0] euphoria 🇷🇺 | walkover
The next match against euphoria ended in a flash, though this time not due to server issues. The opponents simply failed to turn up for the match, resulting in a walkover victory for Victoria. Whilst it’s hard to speak of sporting excitement here, every win brings ViNo closer to the coveted play-off stage.
Victoria Nostra [13:8] Echo Unit 🇬🇷 | Ancient
To round off the series covered today, Victoria Nostra faced Echo Unit. From the very first rounds, it was clear that this was shaping up to be another closely contested match… Both teams played consistently and neither could pull away decisively. The first half therefore ended with a slight lead for ViNo, once again with a score of 7:5. However, this time, after the break, Victoria began to take increasing control of the game. Effective play in key rounds allowed them to close out the match with a 13:8 score, sealing their fifth consecutive victory and consolidating their position in the table.
Four wins under their belt, and more challenges ahead for ViNo
Four consecutive wins mean ViNo can boast an 8–2 record, moving ever closer to the ESEA Entry play-offs. The team has found its rhythm and is proving it can perform in both relaxed and high-pressure matches. But the excitement doesn’t end there… As early as Monday, 10 November, ViNo will face 🇬🇧 XRAVEL. Two days later, on 12 November, they’ll take on 🇹🇷 FEEL FORCE. If they maintain their current form, we can expect some truly exciting matches.
