The last time we looked at Victoria Nostra’s progress in the ESEA Entry, they had a 1-1 record after their first two matches (more HERE). Quite some time has passed since then, however, and our partner hasn’t been sitting idle – they’ve been training hard. This is clearly reflected in their record after six matches, which will see them competing for promotion to higher leagues this season.
Not every match you win has to actually take place…
In matchday 3, Victoria were due to face the Polish team Ninja-Pjatk, but their squad fell apart and it ended in a walkover. Our partner certainly won’t be complaining about this, though, as every victory in the ESEA league is just as important.
A close encounter, but one that can be won
In the next match, our partner wasn’t as lucky as in the previous one. They played against the Dutch side Final Form. The match took place at Ancient and didn’t start too well for Victoria Nostra. The first half ended 7:5 with the opponents in the lead. After the break, they had to make up for the deficit. It wasn’t easy, but nothing is impossible for a determined team. After a fine comeback, our partner managed to win the match 13:11. They certainly owe a lot to tizz, who racked up stats of 24/15 and, of course, a KD of 1.6.
Just when things are going well, the Poles come along and spoil the party
After these two consecutive victories, Victoria Nostra were heading in the right direction and it seemed they would easily secure a playoff spot this season, and perhaps even dominate the competition there. In Round 5, however, the Polish team PoraNaPrzygodę stood in their way. Matches against the Poles are usually tough, and this time was no exception. The map was also Polish, as Mirage was chosen.
As is usually the case, the first half did not go our partner’s way. They lost it 4-8 and, just like in the previous match, had to fight their way back in the second half. This time, their effort was also very good, and a single round decided that we would not see overtime, with the opponents emerging victorious.
Round 6 successfully completed
We’re left with the final round so far, played by Victorie Nostre. In it, they faced the Portuguese team Sweet Ricers Long Grain. Quite a long name, but was the match as long as that? Well, no, Victoria dealt with their opponents very quickly, winning 13-7 and adding a fourth victory to their record, which stands at 4-2 after six matches. They are confidently heading for a place in the playoffs, and from there perhaps even into the ESEA Main league.
