The sixteenth season of the ArrMY league has officially kicked off, and more teams have already begun their battle for promotion and places in the LAN finals. As with every season, the competition has been divided into several tiers. This ensures that both younger squads and Poland’s top teams can face opponents of a similar standard. To mark the start of the new season, we’ve decided to take a look at which divisions our partners will be competing in.
Although some teams have already played their first matches, this time we’ll focus primarily on the league structure and team placements. Representatives of our scene are present at every level of the competition… From Open, through Rising, right up to the top Masters division.
ArrMY Open – the start of the road to promotion
The Open division remains the lowest tier of the competition, with NPK II securing a place there. VoFoxen OldBoys are also competing in the same division. It is here that the battle for promotion through the ArrMY tiers begins, and for many teams, this is their first opportunity to test themselves in organised competition and face rivals from across Poland.
The Open division traditionally attracts the largest number of teams, which means that consistency and securing consecutive victories are crucial right from the very first rounds. Even a single slip-up can significantly affect a team’s final position ahead of the play-offs. For NPK Esport’s second squad, this will be a chance to gain valuable experience. Meanwhile, VoFoxen OldBoys will once again seek to prove that experience can still be a major asset.
As in the previous season, the teams will play eight rounds of the regular season. After that, the top 128 teams will advance to the play-offs. At stake will be not only the chance to continue the fight for the ultimate triumph, but also the opportunity to secure promotion to the Rising division. Ultimately, the top sixteen teams will secure promotion to the next level of competition. Meanwhile, the top eight teams of the entire season will earn a place in the LAN finals.
Although the road to the very top is a long one, it is in the Open that teams have often emerged which, in subsequent seasons, have managed to break through to the higher divisions. That is why, in the sixteenth season too, it is worth keeping a close eye on the performances of the teams competing at this level.
Rising Division – the battle for a place amongst the best
At the Rising level, we’ll see as many as three teams linked to SuperionGG. Group B features Nisla Rakov, Visionary and Constrict Gaming, who in the coming weeks will be battling not only for a place in the knockout stage, but also for the chance to be promoted to ArrMY’s top division.
For several seasons now, the Rising division has served as a bridge between the vast number of teams competing in the Open and the elite few concentrated in the Masters. It is here that many closely contested matches regularly take place, with the differences between individual teams often minimal. For some teams, this is an opportunity to prove their worth. Whilst others will be keen to demonstrate that they are ready to take on the best teams in the country.
The Rising Division has once again been split into two groups, with each group playing eight rounds of the regular season. Once these are complete, the top eight teams from each group will advance to the play-offs. The remaining teams, however, will be eliminated from the competition. The knockout stage will then determine the eight teams that secure a place in the LAN finals.
However, the stakes are even higher, as the top two teams of the entire season will be promoted to the elite Masters division. This means that for Nisla Rakov, Visionary and Constrict Gaming, every point earned could prove invaluable in the battle for a place amongst the best teams in ArrMY.
The top tier of competition – ArrMY Masters
Currently at the very top of the ArrMY league are Vandals Clan and Gloris eSports. Masters remains the most prestigious division in the entire ecosystem, comprising only the top ten teams. This is where the teams that have proven their worth in previous seasons end up, and every match can be of huge significance in terms of the final standings.
Due to the small number of participants, the competition format differs from that of the other divisions. Each team faces every other opponent, resulting in nine rounds of the regular season. This system leaves no room for chance, and success is determined primarily by consistency and the ability to maintain a high standard throughout the season.
At the end of the league phase, the top six teams will secure their places in the play-offs, where the battle for the championship will enter its decisive phase. Ultimately, four teams will qualify for the LAN finals, during which we will discover the best team of ArrMY’s sixteenth season.
The presence of Vandals Clan and Gloris eSports in the Masters means that representatives linked to our editorial team will also be present at the very highest level of the competition. Both teams have previously shown that they are capable of competing with the country’s elite. Therefore, in the coming weeks, they will certainly be keen to confirm their aspirations and join the battle for the season’s most prestigious trophies.
Our partners at every level of competition
The sixteenth season of ArrMY also promises to be extremely interesting from the perspective of SuperionGG’s partners. We’ll be seeing our representatives at every level of competition… from Open, through Rising, right up to Masters. This means that whether fans are following the progress of young squads or are interested in the battle for the top honours, they’ll certainly have someone to cheer on.
The teams still have a long way to go, as the most important decisions will, as usual, only be made during the play-offs and LAN finals. One thing is certain, however… The coming weeks should bring plenty of thrilling matches, and several teams from the partner programme could realistically compete for promotion and top spots in their divisions.
