Yesterday saw the final match of the first season of the Feather Cup. The grand final featured two of our partners: ViBe Gaming took on Gloris eSports. Unfortunately, the final, much like the second semi-final (Gloris vs. Horizon), was not a closely fought contest. The match did not go to a third map, and Gloris eSports won quite comfortably 2–0. To reach the final, Gloris eSports had to defeat teams such as Horizon YG and their own academy in the knockout stage. Meanwhile, ViBe faced Nisła Raków and Lunacy Gaming.

Group stage
In the group stage, there were three teams that remained unbeaten, two of which went on to play in the final. The third team was Nisła Raków, who were knocked out in the semi-finals by ViBe Gaming. Nisła Raków (5-0) and Lunacy Gaming (4-1) progressed from Group A. In Group B, ViBe Gaming (5-0) and Ananaski (4-1) advanced to the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, in Group C, we had the second finalist, Gloris eSports, who finished 5-0, and FragsEasy (4-1). Group D did not produce any finalists. Horizon YG, who qualified in first place (4-1), were knocked out in the semi-finals by Gloris eSports, whilst Gloris Academy were eliminated in the quarter-finals by their older brothers.
A full overview of the groups and results is available in our coverage of this tournament:
The start of the play-offs
Interestingly, if we look at the results of all the matches in the play-offs, Not a single match went to a third map. The overtime in the Nisła Raków vs. ViBe Gaming match saves the day a little, but given such line-ups, we would have expected more evenly matched contests.
Quarter-finals
In the first tie, Nisła Raków faced off against Ananaski. On the first map (dust2), Nisła proved the better side, beating their opponents 13–10. The next map in this clash was ancient, which also went to Nisła Raków, this time by a score of 13–8. The second quarter-final saw Lunacy Gaming take on ViBe Gaming. As previously reported, ViBe went on to win this match. First on Anubis with a score of 13–11, and then on Ancient with a score of 13–5.
In the next quarter-final, we were treated to a Gloris eSports derby. The academy team took on the first team. On the first map (Dust2), we saw a fairly even contest, but ultimately the academy players fell one round short of forcing overtime. The second map proved less evenly matched, with the first-team players winning Inferno 13–7.
FragsEasy versus Horizon YG. Horizon’s Academy side won this match quite comfortably 2–0 on maps. First on Anubis, they dominated their opponents, allowing them to take just four rounds. On the second map, they conceded five rounds but ultimately won Mirage 13–5.
- Nisla Rakov 2–0 Ananaski (Dust2 13–10, Ancient 13–8)
- Lunacy Gaming 0–2 ViBe Gaming (Anubis 11–13, Ancient 5–13)
- Gloris eSports 2–0 Gloris AC (Dust2 13–11, Inferno 13–7)
- Frags Easy 0–2 Horizon YG (Anubis 4–13, Mirage 5–13)
Semi-finals
In the first semi-final, we saw Nisła Raków take on ViBe Gaming. The first map was a real thriller; it was only after two overtime rounds that we found out who came out on top on Ancient. ViBe Gaming won the aforementioned map 19–17. On the next map (Dust2), the Nisła players were just one round short of repeating their feat and forcing extra time on this map as well. Dust2 ended in a 13–11 victory for ViBe Gaming.
Whilst we were treated to a real spectacle in the first semi-final, the second, unfortunately, lacked that same intensity. Gloris eSports literally ran roughshod over Horizon Academy. First, they beat them 3-0 on Ancient, and then on Train they allowed Horizon YG to win just one round. And so, the final was set, featuring ViBe Gaming and Gloris eSports.
Third-place play-off
Unfortunately, it didn’t take place. In the match between Nisła Raków and Horizon YG, the former forfeited the match, meaning Horizon YG took third place in this edition.
