We’ve met all the teams in the VoFoxen Charity Cup

- -

We recently announced our support for the VoFoxen organisation’s initiative, which is organising the Christmas Charity Cup as part of its charitable work. It will take place tomorrow from 5 pm. For more information, please see our previous article, where we outlined the tournament; in this article, we will focus on the latest updates that have been announced.

Commentary team

Last Sunday, we were introduced to the commentary team who will be bringing the tournament matches to life with their voices. The line-up is as follows:

These are certainly not just any old commentators, and anyone tuning in to the broadcasts is sure not to be disappointed by either the matches or the casters!

An unusual map pool

Often, tournaments that focus less on competition and more on having a good time use a map pool that differs significantly from the official one played in professional tournaments. This allows for plenty of surprises, as teams don’t play on these maps, let alone practise plays on them. In the case of VoFoxen, they’ve gone for a very wild map pool, as you won’t find a single map in it that you’d see in a regular tournament. The maps we’ll have the pleasure of watching are: Anubis – dropped from the pool in the latest update, Aztec – last played in CS 1.6 and will be a treat for older players, Cashe – rumour has it that it’s due to be released in a few weeks and is a map played in CS:GO, Cobblestone – was removed from the pool over six years ago and many players are anticipating its return, Season – played in CS 1.6, it now returns in a CS:GO version; Tuscan – updated to the latest version of CS, but hasn’t made it into the official map pool yet; Vertigo – removed from the map pool at players’ request, but many people still know how to play it.

All the teams competing for victory!

All the teams taking part in the tournament were also announced today. There has been one change from the original line-up: Moczodół has been replaced by ZeroPomysłu, a team capable of competing against much stronger sides. Speaking of stronger teams, we can certainly count Constrict Gaming among them, having maintained their place in ESEA Main this season. Of course, they won’t be able to use their tactics this time round, as the maps won’t suit them, but they can still show their class in terms of shooting. The rest of the teams could also spring a surprise, especially as the map pool is non-standard. We’ll have to wait and see, and we’ll find out tomorrow who comes out on top.
