Unfortunately, we’ve known for some time now that this season in VPG Polska has been rather poor for YNG SKiLLZ. We can’t remember the last time YNG was fighting to avoid relegation, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. YNG has been busy in the transfer window recently, with five players leaving the squad and the club welcoming ten new faces — we wrote about this in this article.
YNG have played 22 matches — after that many games, they sit in 14th place, which unfortunately means relegation to the lower division at this stage. However, when we say “a glimmer of hope”, we are referring to the points tally of Sokół Ostróda, who are one place higher but have the same number of points. At the moment, YNG SKiLLZ have a dreadful goal difference of -35; amongst the bottom half of the table, they are unfortunately the worst in this respect. However, if we look at YNG’s recent results, perhaps this goal difference won’t have such an impact, as YNG themselves will pull away on points — that’s what we’d wish for the team’s fans.
The last time we wrote about YNG’s struggles in VPG Poland was in early March, when we covered 8 matches. So, since that last article, they have played 14 matches, and their position has improved slightly.
14 matches, of which, in our opinion, the most recent ones – from two days ago – are among the most interesting, given who YNG were up against. On 24 March, our partner kicked off with a match against another member of the partner programme – The Bulls Team, who seem to be in slightly poorer form of late. We previously wrote about the surprise caused by the Angry Wolves team, and today we’ll write about another one. YNG SKiLLZ won that match 4–3, playing away from home. Certainly, no one expected (well, perhaps apart from the YNG players) such a turn of events, which is why YNG’s achievement deserves all the more appreciation and praise, as it goes a long way towards securing their place in the league.

Following their victory over TBT, the YNG players turned their attention to the match against Sokół Ostróda, which ended 1–0 after 90 minutes. Fortunately, the result went our partner’s way, adding another three points to their tally on the day.

6 points from the 2 matches played so far – sounds good, doesn’t it? If we told you it only got better, would you believe us? In their next match, YNG hosted the Angry Panthers, whom they beat 2–1. After three matches played, they have a full haul of points to their name.

They’ll certainly end the day in good spirits, despite the defeat in the final match of the day against the Immortals.

Tomorrow, YNG returns to the battle to stay in the league and will try to spring more surprises. Their opponents will be Iron Ravens, Mocny Gaz Es and Illegal Esports.
