Team Fairus under pressure – a difficult start in the ESEA

- -

The new ESEA season is in full swing, and Team Fairus is off to a difficult start in the Open9 division. After two matches, their record stands at 0–2, which is certainly not the result the players were hoping for. Despite this poor start, the team is keeping its cool. The season is only just getting under way, and there are still plenty of opportunities ahead for them to turn things around. Will Fairus manage to get back on track, or will this poor start prove to be a sign of bigger problems to come?

Team Fairus in trouble – an analysis of their opening matches

Team Fairus 6:13 Carnivores | Ancient

The match against the Carnivores began as a closely fought contest, with the teams trading rounds throughout the first half. Fairus managed to find answers to their opponents’ plays, and the 6–6 draw at half-time offered hope of a positive result. Ancient, as a map requiring good spatial awareness and rotations, forced both teams to play cautiously. However, Fairus coped well with communicating and holding their positions, which allowed them to respond effectively in the early stages of the match.

Unfortunately, the second half proved far more difficult for Team Fairus. This was because their rivals, Carnivores, managed to take control of the match, whilst Fairus were unable to maintain their pace or respond effectively to their opponents’ aggressive plays. It was clear that the team struggled to maintain stability and consistency at crucial moments, which resulted in a run of lost rounds. As a result, this part of the game sends a clear signal that Fairus must focus on improving the fluidity and flexibility of their play, particularly when the opposition dictates the pace. This lesson could prove invaluable later in the season.

Team Fairus 10:13 not so ybg | Ancient

The second match on Ancient got off to a difficult start for Team Fairus. In the first half, not so ybg managed to build a lead, ending it with a score of 4:8. Fairus struggled to take control of key areas of the map, which resulted in less effective attacks and difficulties in defending their positions. Despite this, the team did not give up and tried to slowly make up for their losses.

In the second half of the match, Fairus showed a marked improvement. They managed to win more rounds and set a faster pace, demonstrating character and a fighting spirit. However, the lead built up by their opponents proved too great to completely turn the match around. The second half showed that Fairus are capable of responding to difficult situations and fighting until the very end. However, they still need to work on this to avoid such slow starts and control the flow of the match more effectively right from the outset.

What’s next for ESEA Season 54?

Team Fairus began the 54th ESEA season in the Open9 division with clear difficulties, as evidenced by their first two defeats on the Ancient map. Despite putting up a spirited fight and showing flashes of solid play, the team still needs to work on maintaining consistency and stability throughout the entire match. The season is only just getting underway, and the team’s potential remains high. Fairus currently have plenty of time to improve and learn from their experiences.

Another test awaits them today at 8.30 pm, this time against OrderZero from Malta. The next challenge is scheduled for Wednesday, also at 8.30 pm, when Fairus will face the British team Alba. Will Team Fairus’s players be able to overcome their difficult start and begin racking up valuable points? We’ll find out the answer to that question very soon.
