Three weeks ago, we published an article about ViBe Gaming’s difficult start to the season in ESEA Main. It wasn’t an easy piece to write, as the team had begun the campaign with a painful 1–5 record. At the time, it was hard to find an optimist who believed in a turnaround. The team looked lost, and each successive defeat caused growing concern. Today, however, we are writing about a completely different situation. The team has turned things around completely and, in a few consecutive matches, has shown a determination that few expected.
The breakthrough that gave them wings
The first match after that disastrous start was against Romania’s Werty Ac Aqua. The lads needed a win to regain their confidence and finally feel that they were in control of events on the server. From the very first rounds, it was clear that the team had come to get the job done. The game fell into place for them almost immediately. They gained an economic advantage, rotated well and effectively shut down their opponents’ entry points. They led 9-3 at half-time, which allowed them to go into the second half without any unnecessary nerves. After the break, ViBe Gaming finished the job. Within a few minutes, they had sealed the result at 13-4. It was a confident, decisive and much-needed victory that allowed them to break their losing streak.

Back from the abyss
Two days later, the team faced Polish side TEB ESPORT PRO. This match looked like a nightmare coming back to haunt them once again. ViBe started the match sluggishly, struggled to close out rounds and found themselves in a precarious 3-9 deficit at half-time. Few believed at that point that they could still fight back. But it was in this very match that the lads showed their character. After the break, they played with more dynamism, made quicker decisions and, round by round, took the initiative. Eventually, the team levelled the score and then tipped the balance of victory in their favour. A 13-11 triumph after such a poor first half was more than just a win. It was a signal: ViBe Gaming is back and has no intention of letting up.

A match that fell just short
The next match against Finnish side PELIA started very promisingly for the Polish players. They opened the rounds wisely, played confidently and built up a 7-5 lead by half-time. It seemed they were in control and should comfortably see out the win. Unfortunately, the second half looked completely different. The team lost their rhythm, communication errors began to creep in, and several rounds slipped away at crucial moments. The Finns seized every opportunity and suddenly it was they who were dictating the terms. Ultimately, the Poles lost 9-13. This match was a bitter pill to swallow, as the team had the game under control but failed to dot the i’s and cross the t’s.

Back to winning ways
Following their defeat against the Finnish side, they faced Russian outfit A114U. ViBe approached the match with a cool head and great composure. The Mirage map suited their style. They started the match well again, immediately finding their rhythm and building a 7-5 lead by half-time. This allowed them to control the pace of the game on the attacking side as well. Their opponents tried to close the gap, but ViBe Gaming responded in the crucial rounds. The final 13-10 score was fully deserved and marked an important step towards rebuilding stability.

Consistency and composure
The clash with Russian side DJOUFARA was another test of mental resilience. The Poles started very solidly and were again leading 7-5 at half-time. It was clear that the team analyses their opponents well and exploits their patterns. After the break, the game became more tense, as the opponents tried to get back into the match with aggressive plays and a fast pace. ViBe Gaming kept their cool, however, winning the opponents’ eco rounds and maintaining control of the economy. The 13-9 result showed that the team can close out matches without drama and maintain a consistent level of play.

The most demanding battle in this series of matches
The last of the matches described, against Romanian side Altiora Esports, was by far the toughest. ViBe Gaming started well, giving them a 7:5 lead at half-time. However, after the break, the game turned into a thrilling back-and-forth battle. Every round felt like a mini tactical war. The Romanians played far better than their previous opponents and forced ViBe Gaming to maintain maximum concentration. The match went into overtime, and the finale demanded immense mental resilience. ViBe Gaming held their ground, however, and ended the clash with a 16-13 victory. This win cost them a great deal of energy, but it took the team another step towards a resurgence.

History being made before our very eyes
Not long ago, ViBe Gaming had a 1–5 record and it looked as though the team would be fighting to avoid relegation rather than for promotion. Today, their situation looks completely different. After a run of excellent matches, the team has a 6–6 record and sits in 105th place in the table. This position places them in the middle of the pack, but leaves little room for error. They are closer to the relegation zone than to the play-off spots, yet they still have every chance of climbing higher.
The lads have two crucial matches ahead of them. On 18 November, they face Norwegian side Centre Gaming, and on 20 November, Russian side M33Ac x PulscePC. These are the last two matches of the regular season, and both are of immense importance. If the lads win both matches, the play-offs will become a realistic goal. However, any defeat could seriously complicate matters and push the team back into a relegation battle.
ViBe Gaming has already proven that it can come back from an almost hopeless position. Now they face the final step. It all depends on whether they can maintain their momentum and capitalise on the opportunity they have created for themselves. Anything is still possible.
