A few days ago, The Bulls Team hosted Italian side Impact eSports in the round of 16 of the ProLeague Champions League. From what we could gather, the organisation was a little apprehensive about this opponent and claimed they were the strongest rival they could have faced from the second pot. To be honest, our knowledge doesn’t extend far enough at the moment to confirm this. As it turned out, there was no need to be so apprehensive, as our partner won the two-legged tie quite confidently, albeit comfortably. The first match, hosted by Impact eSports, ended in a 0–0 draw. However, our partner managed to win the second match by a narrow 1–0 margin, which was enough to secure their place in the quarter-finals. Below is a recap of the entire match, complete with commentary. The winning goal came as early as the 13th minute. The score was held until the final whistle, thanks to some solid defensive play.
0:0, 1-0 vs. Impact eSports
The Bulls Team
We’re through to the Champions League quarter-finals, and Impact eSports, the strongest team in the second pot standing in our way, suffer a narrow 1-0 defeat; the Bulls’ defence once again proves that it is stronger than the Italian coaching philosophy – quite literally…
Who will The Bulls Team face in the next round?
The quarter-final pairings will be drawn, so at this stage we do not know who The Bulls Team will face or when. What we do know, however, is that three matches must be played in the round of 16, after which The Bulls Team will likely find out who their opponent is in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Mission accomplished, but will the ‘euphoria’ go to their heads?
Judging by the content of The Bulls Team’s Facebook post, that ‘euphoria’ hasn’t gone to the players’ heads. It’s well known that a footballer’s mindset and what a social media manager posts online are two different things, but in this case we can be fairly certain. It’s worth noting that the TBT team is well on the way to winning the ProLeague Polska, where they currently sit top of the table. In the Fusion Cup Polska, they’re through to the quarter-finals, having also finished top of their group (out of 10 teams). The Bulls Team has not been knocked out of any of the last three major leagues or tournaments so far; they are still in the running for the title, and let’s hope it stays that way — right to the end.
The Bulls Team
All things considered, apart from the EU and a possible ProLeague Polska title, we haven’t won anything yet, so we can’t take a break and rest on our laurels.
