The Nexium POLteam continues its campaign in the latest ESEA Intermediate S55 season. After a disappointing start to the season, the Polish team managed to bounce back and performed at a much higher level in subsequent matches, demonstrating their ability to learn quickly and respond to mistakes.
Anyone who followed our last article on how our partners are faring in the ESEA will know that Nexium POLteam didn’t get off to the best start to the season. At the time, we mentioned their opening match, which ended in defeat. As a reminder, here’s a link to that article, but today we’ll go over everything again – so that we can provide a complete overview of the lads’ recent performances in one place.
A disappointing start to the season
The season for Nexium POLteam began on 7 October, when they faced another Polish team – Capybara Esport. The match was played on the de_inferno map, and it was clear from the outset that both teams knew the terrain well. At half-time, the score was tied at 6–6, which promised a fiercely contested second half.
Unfortunately, after the sides switched sides, the opponents took full control. Capybara Esport began to dominate most rounds, capitalising on communication errors and a lack of effectiveness on Nexium POLteam’s part. Despite moments of good play and a few clutch wins, the POLteam line-up failed to turn the match around and ultimately had to concede defeat, losing 10–13.
This match showed that the start of the season can be difficult even for well-prepared teams. The lads didn’t look bad, but they lacked a cool head at crucial moments. Fortunately, the team didn’t let this setback get them down – on the contrary, the defeat proved to be a motivation to work hard and improve quickly.

A comfortable victory over Finnish side RajutKundit
Nexium POLteam played their next match on 9 October, facing the Finnish team RajutKundit. This time, the Polish players went onto the server with a completely different mindset. From the very first rounds, their focus, composure and good communication were evident, which translated into an excellent performance on the de_dust2 map.
By half-time, Nexium were leading 8–4, displaying very solid play and effective use of grenades at key moments. After the sides switched, the pattern of play remained unchanged – the Polish team completely controlled the pace of the match, giving their opponents little chance. A 5–1 scoreline in the second half sealed a comfortable 13–5 victory.
The teamwork stood out particularly in this match. Every player contributed something, and the play looked fluid and well-thought-out. It was clear that the team had learnt from their previous match and approached the contest with greater confidence. This victory was important not only in terms of points but also psychologically. The result restored the team’s self-belief and confirmed that Nexium POLteam can dominate when they play their own game.

Another victory – the Poles beat SEGA_dII
After a few days’ break, on 14 October, Nexium POLteam faced the Spanish team SEGA_dII. The match was once again played on the de_inferno map, but this time the result and the course of the clash were completely different from the opening match against Capybara.
From the very first rounds, the Poles dictated the pace of the game. Effective round openings, well-planned rotations and excellent work from the sniper allowed them to quickly take an 8–4 lead by half-time. In the second half, POLteam continued to dominate, playing confidently and consistently, which ultimately secured them a 13–6 victory.
This match demonstrated the team’s tactical maturity and the stability that had been lacking at the start of the season. Nexium POLteam not only proved that they can bounce back from defeats, but also that they can control the flow of the match from start to finish. Compared to their first appearance on Inferno, there was a huge improvement – both individually and as a team.
A positive record and an optimistic future
After three matches in ESEA Intermediate Season 55, Nexium POLteam can boast a 2–1 record. Following a disappointing start against Capybara Esport, the team responded admirably, winning two consecutive matches in convincing fashion. The Polish side are now looking to the future with optimism, knowing that their form is on the up and their team chemistry is improving with every match.
The first match was merely a blip that helped the team realise what they needed to work on. The subsequent victories showed that Nexium POLteam are capable of bouncing back and performing at a truly solid level. If they maintain this momentum and continue to develop their understanding of the game, they could become one of the most formidable teams in their division.
The lads still have plenty of matches left this season, but it’s already clear that this team has enormous potential. The Poles are back on the winning track and, if they maintain their current form, they could well challenge for promotion to a higher league.
