Young Stars recently announced their new first team, which is a combination of the former academy squad and the disbanded first team. It’s an interesting mix of experience and young rising stars. They kicked off the ESEA Main season on 6 October and didn’t cause much of a stir. However, beginnings are not always easy, but their goal this season is rather to stay at this level of competition and only think about promotion in the following seasons.
Season opener –
Young Stars Talents vs :fi: Team Juvi
To kick off the season, our partner faced the Finns from Team Juvi. They probably like the Nuke vibe too, as Nuke was chosen as the map. The start wasn’t too kind to the young stars. They lost the pistol round and had to make up for the deficit. However, this proved no easy task, and as a result, their rivals pulled out a comfortable lead. Unfortunately, the situation at the end of the first half wasn’t looking good; they lost it 3-9 and Young Stars had to regroup.
The second half, however, began in a completely different vein to the first. A good start brought our partner closer to their desired goal, and they pursued it relentlessly. They managed to draw, but that was only half the battle; they still had to win the whole match and start the season with a positive record. With a few minor problems, they managed it and showed that the organisation’s management had been right to back this team.
Continuing the good start?
Three days after their previous match, Young Stars Talents faced another opponent, this time from France. It was OldFriendsClub, for whom this is their third season in the ESEA Main league, though in previous seasons they had managed nothing more than survival. The battlefield was once again Nuke, where our partner could feel confident after the previous match. This time, however, the first half was even worse than in the last match. The young stars lost it 2-10, which practically buried their chances of victory.
In the second half, they did try to fight back, but the deficit was too great. They finished the match 8-13, which was quite a reality check following their comeback victory. However, a 1-1 record doesn’t look too bad, and our partners still have a chance to achieve their goals.
