The twelfth season of Armm is slowly drawing to a close, and the excitement is building with every match. The closer we get to the final, the greater the tension and the more esports drama there is. One such drama unfolded in the Masters Division play-off semi-finals, where Armitra Esports had to bid farewell to their dreams of a championship title. Although they failed to reach the grand final this time round, the team can rest easy — their place in the top division is still secure.
An unfortunate semi-final — Armitra Esports bids farewell to Arrmy Masters
- Armitra Esports 1:2 TNC Esports
- 1:13, Dust 2
- 13:7, Mirage
- 10:13, Train
The semi-final clash between Armitra and TNC was a real rollercoaster of emotions and a gruelling contest from Armitra’s perspective. TNC have been in increasingly good form for several weeks now and have proven that they can compete on equal terms with the top teams on the Polish scene.
The first map — Dust 2, chosen by Armitra — turned out to be a complete surprise, and unfortunately not in a positive sense. Although it seemed that they should have felt confident on their own map pick, reality brutally dashed their plans. From the very start, TNC dictated the pace of the game, reading every rotation perfectly and emerging victorious from almost every exchange. Armitra couldn’t find a way to break through their opponents’ defence, and their attacks often fizzled out without posing much of a threat to their rivals. The match ended with a crushing 1:13 scoreline, which best illustrates just how one-sided the contest was. TNC thus proved that their current form allows them to ruthlessly exploit their opponents’ weaknesses.
On the second map, Mirage — TNC’s pick — the roles were completely reversed. Armitra, clearly stung by their earlier defeat, took control of the match right from the start. Their play was far more organised, and their aggressive pushes onto the bombsites were carried out with greater flair and confidence. TNC struggled considerably to contain Armitra’s dynamic attacks, and when it came to playing on the attacking side, they were unable to find a way past their opponents’ watertight defence. Armitra claimed the crucial rounds, preventing TNC from getting back into the match and closing out Mirage with a 13–7 scoreline, levelling the series.
The decisive clash on Train was exactly what we’d expect from a top-tier semi-final — evenly matched, tense and full of excitement from the first round to the last. Both teams traded blows, exchanging points and spectacular plays. In the decisive moments, however, it was TNC who kept their cool and showed better organisation, capitalising on Armitra’s mistakes to close out the match 10–13 and secure their place in the grand final.
Although this season’s Army Masters ends in the semi-finals for Armitra, one cannot deny their character and their fighting spirit right to the very end. Despite a painful start, the team managed to bounce back and force a deciding map, whilst demonstrating enormous potential. This time, they lacked a touch of luck and composure at crucial moments, but one thing is certain — they will certainly return even stronger next season.
