Ultimately, the standings revealed the top teams, who are already gearing up for the decisive phase of the tournament. Whilst there were plenty of expected outcomes, a few results can certainly be considered surprises. Of course, to keep up to date with the results, we encourage you to follow our coverage of the tournament.

How did the Feather Cup group stage unfold?

Group A — Mepo Industries’ dominance and a closely fought battle for qualification

The competition in Group A provided plenty of excitement and a few surprises. From the very first matches, Mepo Industries set the tone, maintaining a consistent level of form throughout the group stage. The team confidently defeated, amongst others, Tuga Clan 13–7 and Moczodol 13–5, finishing the stage with a 4–1 record and deservedly taking first place in the table.

Close behind them were the Hussars and Vandals Clan. Both teams finished the group stage with a 3–2 record. However, the Hussars can boast a convincing 13–5 victory over Vandals Clan, whilst their rivals retaliated with a 13–9 win over ViNo, which ultimately secured them third place.

The battle for fourth place provided the most excitement. Victoria Nostra fought to the very end to stay in the tournament, and despite a 14–16 defeat to Moczodole, they managed to edge out their rivals thanks to a better round record. Tuga Clan also bid farewell to the tournament, finishing the group stage with just one win, though they gave their opponents a surprisingly tough time in many matches.

Group B — GV eSports and Ananaski at the top, Lunacy out of contention

There was no shortage of excitement in Group B, although the final standings had largely been decided even before the final round. From the very start, GV eSports set the tone for the competition, impressing with their consistency and confidence. The team recorded a 4–1 record and the best round-robin result in the group, securing victories including a 13–8 win over Lunacy Gaming and a 13–5 victory against Zen Esports.

Just behind the leaders were Ananaski, also with a 4–1 record, whose only slip-up came in their clash with GV eSports, which they lost 5–13. Apart from that, the team were in solid form, defeating Oppo 13–5, amongst others, and comfortably securing their place in the play-offs. Oppo and Sabre Gaming battled it out for the final play-off spot, with both teams finishing the group stage with an identical 3–2 record. Oppo can boast a valuable 13–10 victory over Zen Esports and a 13–2 win over Sabre, which saw them finish third in the table. Sabre Gaming, despite a few slip-ups, also secured their place in the next stage of the tournament.

At the bottom of the table were Zen Esports and Lunacy Gaming. Zen managed to secure only a walkover victory, whilst Lunacy withdrew from the competition at an early stage.

Group C — confident progress

There was no shortage of excitement in Group C of the Feather Cup group stage, although the standings were decided more quickly than might have been expected. After just a few rounds, it became clear that Amolap and Oblivion would be unable to continue, which significantly affected the course of the competition. In practice, the remaining four teams were mainly battling it out for the best possible seeding ahead of the play-offs. Mivori fared best in this contest, finishing the stage with a 4–1 record and an excellent round record. The team recorded some convincing victories, including a 13–7 win over GangOlsena and a 13–7 win over Lunacy NXT, demonstrating consistent form and a wide range of map choices.

Nored and GangOlsena achieved the same record, albeit with a slightly worse round record. Nored proved their class by defeating, amongst others, Mivori 13–10, whilst GangOlsena managed to win their head-to-head clash with Nored 13–10, which ultimately decided the extremely tight race at the top of the group. The final team to secure promotion was Lunacy NXT. Although the team failed to put up a proper fight against the best, thanks to walkovers and a few solid performances, they managed to hold onto their place in the top four.

Group D — Vyce Clan and Pirtus Vro dominated, whilst the rest battled for survival

Group D of the Feather Cup was also full of excitement, although a clear leading group emerged fairly quickly. Vyce Clan and Pirtus Vro were by far the standout teams, finishing the group stage with an identical 4–1 record and comfortably securing their places in the play-offs. The remaining teams were mainly fighting to stay in the competition and improve their round records, whilst Infinitis E-sports withdrew from further competition at an early stage, forfeiting several matches.

Vyce Clan were in impressive form throughout the group stage… Convincing 13–3 and 13–5 victories over Pirtus Vro and Team Fairus respectively showed that the team has the potential to finish among the top teams in the tournament. Pirtus Vro, for their part, despite a heavy defeat to Vyce Clan, managed to score effectively in subsequent matches, recording, amongst other results, a 13–11 win over Golden 5 and walkovers against Fairus and Infinitis, which allowed them to match the leaders’ record.

Behind them came Ignis Five, who, after a decent start, lost their rhythm somewhat but ultimately retained their place in the top four. Team Fairus and Golden 5 finished the group stage with an identical 2–3 record, but thanks to a better round record, Fairus ultimately finished higher in the table.
